TUCSON, Ariz. - You Decide 2010 -- Arizona Sen. John McCain and Gov. Jan Brewer hit the campaign trail together. They attended a meet and greet in Tucson Friday morning.
The Republican senator is continuing his re-election campaign swing around the state with the governor.
She's hitting Democrats hard on issues of spending and the deficit.
’We’re going to have to go in and we're going to have to make some more deeper cuts. Along with those propositions, with the Obama health care bill, it is going to cost Arizona another billion dollars,’ Brewer said.

Prescott Mayor Marlin Kuykendall introduced Sen. John McCain, Gov. Jan Brewer, and several other Republican candidates to more than 70 people at a meet-and-greet event Friday afternoon at the Bulleri Building in downtown Prescott.

"Last week, when our executive assistant at city hall came in and said there's a senator and some famous lady going to be here next week, I said, 'What the hell are Harry Reid and Pelosi coming here for?'" Kuykendall said to laughs from the crowd.

"But thanks for being here, and I'm going to give you both some advice. Governor, we're sending three folks from Yavapai County down to help you. Don't get in their way and they'll get the job done."

Brewer led the cheers after Kuykendall's comment.
"Senator, you keep the fort in Washington. Send us a few pigs and some corn and we'll grow some bacon," Kuykendall said to laughs and applause. "It's a great honor, and we use first names here. Welcome to Senator John and Governor Jan."

McCain started by apologizing for being a little late, because he and Brewer wanted to stop at Belmont to see the damage from the tornadoes that hit the small town near Flagstaff on Wednesday.
"We're happy to have a chance to meet with those people, and there's a lot of help on the way from the state, and we're going to get some more from the federal government," McCain said.

Then McCain talked about the economy.
"Obama has said it could be worse. I'm not making that up. It could be worse," McCain said. "Hello, Mr. President - it could be a hell of a lot better."
