In Case You Missed It: Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) appeared on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom to address the Obama Administration’s decision to include Arizona’s immigration law, SB 1070, on a United Nations list of human rights abuses. Franks called it “astonishing” that this Administration would apologize for the United States before the United Nations for Arizona’s attempt to protect their citizens by enforcing the immigration laws that the federal government has for so long failed to enforce.

Responding to the 1,200 National Guard troops that are being
deployed to the southern border, Franks noted that the Administration seems to have a lackadaisical attitude in addressing border security. Franks pointed out that he, along with Senators McCain and Kyl, had initially requested 6,000 troops for the border. The President ultimately agreed to send only 1,200 by August 1st and still failed to live up to even that modest promise, sending the
first group of troops a full month later than promised.
