AZ CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES UPDATE

The 2010 Republican Revolution begins in Arizona! Now that the Primary elections are done, we have some fantastic candidates running for Congress!

Republicans have an excellent opportunity to take back Congress on November 2, 2010. As a service to the PM readers, we are going to publish daily updates from the AZ Congressional Candidates:

CD-1:
DR. PAUL GOSAR

Gosar to Kirkpatrick: Donate SEIU Campaign Contributions
September 1, 2010

Prescott, AZ: Yesterday, the Gosar for Congress campaign highlighted the links between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick. SEIU has been the leading force behind national efforts to boycott Arizona and the Gosar campaign called on Ann Kirkpatrick to refuse their support.

Ann Kirkpatrick has accepted $10,000 in campaign contributions from SEIU while at the same time they continue to bash Arizona and oppose securing our border.

“If Rep. Kirkpatrick is truly committed to protecting Arizona, she must refuse SEIU’s support,” said J.P. Twist, Gosar’s campaign manager. “Ann Kirkpatrick should do the right thing and donate the $10,000 from SEIU to the Governor’s Legal Defense Fund. After walking out on her constituents in Holbrook, Kirkpatrick the lawyer must stop trying to have it both ways.”

Ann Kirkpatrick, a lawyer, was elected to Congress in 2008.
She has voted for Nancy Pelosi, Nationalized Healthcare (Obamacare) and the failed stimulus.

Dr. Gosar, a former Arizona “Dentist of the Year”, a 25-year resident of Flagstaff, a father of three, and a sports and hunting enthusiast has been traveling all over Congressional District One for the past several months. He has enjoyed meeting with voters across the District who share his belief that his background and his experience in rural Arizona’s way of life have positioned him well to defeat Rep. Kirkpatrick in November.

CD-4: JANET CONTRERAS

On June 17, 2009, Glenn Beck, conservative radio and television host and author, read on the air a letter he had just received from 53 year old, Democrat-turned-Republican, Arizona mother, taxpayer and patriot, Janet Contreras. Public reaction to the letter (which had been largelyignored by elected officials) was so positive and so strong, Beck not only posted the letter online, but he invited Janet to appear on his television show. Following that appearance, Janet started to receive the first of many calls, letters and emails asking her to run for office. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/26742/

As excitement grew nationwide for the ideas and principles Janet advocated in her clarion-call letter, it was posted online as a petition for Americans to join – a set of principles for people of all walks of life, all political parties, from all across the nation to unite behind. Today, Janet Contreras has listened and taken counsel with friends, family members, community and business leaders, and declared her candidacy for Congress in Arizona’s 4th congressional district. CD-5: DAVID SCHWEIKERT

The campaign trail sure is heating up and it’s all about the issues!

Over the weekend, Congressman Mitchell’s record was drawn front and center by our campaign. Above his signs, we posted the Congressman’s job killing record.

Guess what Congressman Mitchell did?

He ran… he moved his signs… then he moved them again… and he is still moving them right now as you read this email…

Congressman Mitchell is running from his record. And he’s doing so several times a day now.

The facts are the facts.

We’re not surprised that Congressman Mitchell doesn’t want the voters to know what he’s been doing in Washington.

His votes in near lockstep with Nancy Pelosi have been wrong!

The reckless spending, big government boondoggles, and the multi-trillion dollar healthcare takeover don’t even start to describe this out of control liberal Congress.
We need more jobs, not more government. And we are unified that we can create jobs through pro-growth, limited government policies that defend free markets and free people.

McClung - Grijalva Started the Boycott of Arizona, not Unions
Tucson, AZ - Ruth McClung, Republican Candidate responds to yesterday' millions!?

Tucson, AZ - Ruth McClung, Republican Candidate responds to yesterday's GOP news releases against the endorsement of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and the Service Employees International Union of various Democratic Candidates. McClung said,

"Those unions did lead a campaign to keep businesses away from Arizona, but least we forget, Representative Raul Grijalva started the whole business destroying boycott on Tuesday, April 20. I will not allow Representative Grijalva to forget he started a boycott that has cost our state unknown hundreds of millions!"

CD-8: JESSE KELLY

Greetings! Gabrielle Giffords has reached page 1 of her Liberal Attack Manual, scare seniors about Social Security. Here is the truth: Jesse Kelly wants to protect Social Security for current retirees. We will fully honor our commitments for those now receiving benefits. Those who have been paying into the system should also receive their full benefits.

We need a long-term solution that ensures funds paid into the system will be there when people retire. Younger workers should have the choice of allocating a portion of their contribution into a personal retirement account in their name. Individuals could choose from a range of appropriate retirement options: a blend of guaranteed savings accounts, investment grade bonds, and blue chip equities. Americans should have the same options that Giffords, as a member of Congress, has through the Federal
Thrift Savings Plan.

Representative Giffords has no plan to deal with the long-term challenges facing our current retirement system. Giffords' failure to take action is pushing the Social Security program closer to collapse. We must not allow Giffords to bankrupt the system. Southern Arizona deserves a representative who is willing to take on tough issues and find good solutions. Jesse Kelly is that person.
