Spokesman Douglas Cole Regarding SB1070 Ruling

"For now, the State of Arizona has been denied the opportunity to fully enforce the immigration laws that the federal government have refused to follow. In this case, the federal government has essentially admitted that they pick and chose which laws they want to enforce. Only in Washington, D.C. does this make sense.

"Attorney General Terry Goddard hailed the judge’s ruling today a little over a month after fighting to defend the law and lamenting his position to the East Coast elite at New York City’s Harvard Club. That was, of course, following the first time he changed his mind after initially speaking out against it. It’s enough to make your head spin.

"Terry Goddard is the John Kerry of Arizona – it is impossible to keep up with his position on SB1070 because it keeps changing. Just like his jobs agenda and lack of budget plans – more empty rhetoric.

"Governor Brewer is resolute in her defense of the State of Arizona and doing the job that the federal government refuses to do. She will not stop demanding border security and standing up against those who want to boycott and threaten our state. The greatest threat to Arizona’s economic recovery continues to be from the Obama administration and those who embody his liberal, out of touch agenda such as Attorney General Terry Goddard."
