McCAIN CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES VETERANS FOR McCAIN COALITION

PHOENIX, AZ -- U.S. Senator John McCain’s re-election campaign today announced the launch of its Veterans for McCain coalition, with veterans from across Arizona joining together in a grassroots movement to support Senator McCain’s re-election.

Marine Corps veteran and U.S. Navy Reserve Commander Marty Sepulveda will serve as Chairman of the coalition.

Marine Corps and Arizona National Guard veteran Marshall Trimble, Arizona’s Official State Historian, will serve as Honorary Chairman.

“As a former naval aviator and prisoner of war, John McCain understands far better than anyone else currently serving in Congress the enormous sacrifices veterans have made on behalf of our country,” said Arizona Veterans for McCain Chairman Marty Sepulveda.

“When Republicans take control of the United States Senate, John McCain will be Chairman of the Armed Services Committee. He will then be in a stronger position to ensure that our military has the proper equipment and resources needed to maintain security
around the world and more importantly, John McCain will make sure that the United States military has the right strategy in place as we continue to prosecute the war in Afghanistan.”

“Senator McCain is a man of great honor, courage, principle and integrity whose entire life has been one of service to his country,” said Veterans for McCain Honorary Chairman Marshall Trimble.

“In Iraq, when many of our leaders wanted to cut and run, he championed the surge and when told this might cost him the presidency, he said so be it; he'd rather lose the election than
lose the war. Not only does Arizona need his leadership, so does America. When he speaks, the nation and the world listen.”

“I cherish the honor and responsibility of serving Arizona’s veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our state and nation,” said Senator John McCain.

“Our military men and women exemplify the best of America, choosing to serve a cause greater than their own self interest. I am deeply honored to have the support of so many Arizona veterans, and look forward to working with them as we face the great challenges ahead.”

The Veterans for McCain Coalition adds to growing military veteran support for Senator McCain.

Just last week, two major veterans organizations,
Vets for Freedom and Combat Veterans for Congress PAC, endorsed the Arizona Senator.
