My Friend,
Last weekend, I was honored to have my friend and Senate colleague, Scott Brown out on the campaign trail in Arizona. Scott and I spoke at campaign rallies, met with the fantastic volunteers in our campaign headquarters and we even found a little time to catch a University of Arizona basketball game - which went into double overtime before the Wildcats won
His visit to Arizona gave us both the opportunity to talk about the current state of the Democrats' health care legislation.
The fact remains that they are ramming this disastrous piece of legislation through Congress against the will of the American people. I don't have to tell you that an overwhelming majority of Americans are opposed to the Administration's plans to overhaul our health care system. Scott Brown's stunning victory, not to mention the Democrats' sinking poll numbers, should have been a wakeup call to the liberal leadership in Washington.
But, unfortunately President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and their colleagues have chosen to ignore the will of the people and the public outcry against government-run health care, tax increases and unconscionable deficit spending.
President Obama has said he wants health care legislation on his desk by the end of this month.
As I've said, we have very little time, and every dollar counts. Democrats are completely out-of-touch with public opinion when it comes to health care, out of control spending and the need for job creation.
We must keep up the fight against these disastrous policies and defeat them. Government interventions are not the solutions to our nation's challenges. I, along with my friend Scott Brown continue to fight each day - to the best of our ability - against wasteful spending, higher taxes and government-run health care.
Sincerely,
John McCain
P.S. President Obama has set a deadline for health care reform at the end of this month. His deadline has sent Democrats scrambling to push through any sort of health care overhaul they can and this could result in disaster for our country. I am leading the fight against their takeover of health care along with my Republican colleagues in the Senate. Will you show your support for our efforts? A donation of $25 or more will enable me to continue fighting this month against the far left efforts to overhaul health care and I appreciate any amount you can give today. Thank you.
