J.D. HAYWORTH PLAYING THE "BIRTHER" CARD!

The latest buzz on the all the political blogs is J.D. Hayworth's push on the Birth Certificate of President Obama. Look what the blogosphere is saying:

J.D. Hayworth – Birther? from Axis of Right

J.D. Hayworth was seen as a chance to finally primary someone who has frustrated many of us for a long time. However, given some recent statements, one wonders if Hayworth is a certified nut. He refuses to denounce birthirism, and subtly questions Obama’s birth certificate in several interviews. In this first one, from January 27 with Chris Matthews, he stated that the President should produce his birth certificate:

More recently, in an interview this week with CNN’s Campbell Brown, he was challenged on this issue, and
he tried to dodge it, finally saying that all politicians should produce their birth certificates to prevent identity theft:

What happens to the message and the credibility of the Tea Party movement if J.D. Hayworth turns out to be a complete nut job. He may not be there yet, but he is flirting dangerously close. With statements like this, I’d have to throw my support behind McCain. Others in the Conservative blogosphere are coming to the same conclusion.

I’m happy to see John McCain fight for his political life in Arizona, but stuff like this means I must go for McCain over Hayworth.

Former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, who on Monday officially entered Arizona’s Republican race against Sen. John McCain, defended his recent call for President Barack Obama to produce his birth certificate, suggesting his questions stem not from conspiracy theories that Obama was really born in Kenya but from concerns about identity theft.

During a Monday evening interview on CNN (watch it here), Hayworth pointed to the case of fugitive Vietnam War protester Howard Mechanic, who in 2000 sought a seat on the Scottsdale City Council using the alias “Gary Tredway.” After he was exposed, Mechanic eventually received a pardon from President Bill Clinton.

“All I’m saying is, for every race across the country, especially with identity theft in the news, it would be great that people can confirm who they say they are,” Hayworth said.

“Identity theft? I mean, come on,” an incredulous CNN host Campbell Brown said, laughing. “Is that honestly what this is about?”

The Birther issue is a non-starter and if Hayworth is going to pursue it, he needs to be beaten. No respectable politician can run on this issue.

J.D. Hayworth wants to represent the state of Arizona while going about life as if it was the south in the 1960's. Ignorance. I hope the voters smell the bs

JD Hayworth has nothing to offer this state but his continued lack of morals and values. He is trying to avoid all the questions that made him lose his seat in the first place- He messed up big time taking from Abramoff, there is no way we need to give him a second chance to fail again!

When JD was in congress the first time he was voted the dumbest member of congress by the staff. That is enough said!

JD is grasping at straws here. The guy is so up to his ears in legal bills left from Abramoff scandal and the radio gig gone bad bc of his unethical campaign methods, he cannot even know which way is up. He is spinning and it will be very interesting to hear what comes out of his mouth next. Perhaps he will tell us that he plans on going to Mars with the aliens.
