Shooting advice By HJS

HJS comments: I had a Wilson Combat 1911 that I liked, but I decided to bite the bit and trade up to a Nighthawk Predator. The first ten rounds told me I made the right choice. The retail outlay for something like that comes to a whopping $3,000 and something after the tax is applied, so you won't see too many of us shooters with them (unless we hit the lottery). I would not have been able to make that trade if I had not started small long ago and kept trading up--you know, some members of our American community think that doing things like that is wrong! Some folks think we are criminals because we either have firearms, or believe we have that right. They argue that we DO NOT have that right. Dhimmis! Some prosecutors have said over the years that in any case, self-defense should not be a legal reason for hurting someone or even threatening someone. Hogwash!

I have never liked the statement, "Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them". I certainly have no respect for anyone who thinks that way; but considering what we have seen and heard so far, it could very well be the slogan for a certain party. That slogan seems to parallel their thinking on self-defense as well: "Do not offend!" Of course, maybe I should not bring this up either, but when one party in congress constantly and blatantly pushes for a certain agenda
that the majority of Americans do not want, is that not offensive? But to show how the "Do not Offend" Party is offensive to the American people and seeks only more control that our Constitution authorizes, would take a few volumes; so I will not belabor the point. Maybe I should point out, though, our borders are still not closed! And there seems to be no official interest in closing them! And some low-lifes are considering the North American
Union again!

But getting back to self-defense, the Wildebeest theory, so loved by liberals, recognizes the herds of animals grazing peacefully in Africa while prides of lions nearby look on. When the predators stand up and hungrily survey the herd, the herd begins to move and run away. Naturally, the predators pick on those less able to elude them. Once the lions bring down the one they chose, the rest of the herds settle down again and return to grazing. They would like us to be more like that. Whenever we are singled out by a predator or predators, we should just take what is coming without making too much fuss and trust government to eventually find and punish the predators. We are not to disturb the order of things. If a predator kills us, well, that is what predators do. But if we turn the tables and kill the predator, then that is a disturbance against public order (especially if the predators were illegally imported from another country). If the early westerners had thought that way, we would never have achieved our "Manifest Destiny", one country from Atlantic to Pacific. And if our seniors at age 65 would just retire somewhere and let go until they died, that might save a few bucks in a treasury that seems to have no problem giving away trillions of our tax money to those who do not deserve it. But when I think of seniors, then I remember that when General Douglas MacArthur planned and carried out his famous Inchon Landing, he was 70 years old. And General Tommy Franks was 58 when he left the fighting in Afghanistan to carry out the invasion of Iraq. But then, what do I know? I had two twenty-year careers serving the American people and am still contributing my share, trying to make sense of what ignorant politicians are doing to ignore our enemies, betray our friends, offend the American people, and waste our resources.

In order to protect myself and my family, and my neighbors, I definitely will exercise my civil rights to vote against perfidious politicians that constantly vote against me and lie about doing it! And I still believe that the American people should know the person who lives in the White House and considers himself the chief architect of our defense and our well being!

God Bless the USA !!!!!!!

Shooting advice Words Of Wisdom
Clint Smith, Director of Thunder Ranch, is part drill instructor, and part standup comic
(Thunder Ranch is a firearms training facility in Arizona ).Here are a few of his observation on tactics, firearms, self defense and life as we know it in the civilized world."The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win and cheat if necessary.""Don't forget, incoming fire has the right of way.."
"Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it's going to be empty.""If you're not shootin', you should be loadin'. If you're not loadin', you should be movin', if you're not movin', someone's gonna cut your head off and put it on a stick."
"When you reload in low light encounters, don't put your flashlight in your back pocket.. If you light yourself up, you'll look like an angel or the tooth fairy... and you're gonna be one of 'em pretty soon."
"Do something. It may be wrong, but do something."
"Shoot what's available, as long as it's available, until something else becomes available.""If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That's ridiculous. If you have a gun, what in the hell do you have to be paranoid for."
"Don't shoot fast, unless you also shoot good.."
"You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or use any other word you think will work, but I've found that a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much the universal language.""You have the rest of your life to solve your problems.. How long you live depends on how well you do it."
"You cannot save the planet but you may be able to save yourself and your family."
"Thunder Ranch will be here as long as you'll have us or until someone makes us go away, and either way, it will be exciting."More Excellent Gun Wisdom.......The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.
2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.
4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'
6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.
7. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.
'8. Beware of the man who only has one gun, because he probably knows how to use it very well.

9. It is better to have a gun and not need it, than it is to need a gun and not have it!

10. Be prepared to pay the utmost price to win, because you enemy is prepared to do so! If you take time to look them in the eye, they will surely kill you first.

'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. ChestertonA people that values its privileges above its principles will soon lose both."Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not.." - Thomas Jefferson
