A Response to the Message from Congressman Mitchell

Received this today from one of our loyal readers:

Mr. Mitchell,

You may fool a lot of people, but not me! I am a nurse, who was trained in Canada, I have worked in a socialized system. I have also worked as an RN in the United States. You are going to ruin the best healthcare system in the WORLD.

One of the reasons our healthcare system in Arizona is so stressed is because of the ILLEGAL ALIENS that we are forced to take care of in our Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units. If you want to help healthcare, get rid of people who are here illegally.

Also, there is nothing in this bill about Tort Reform, you want to help doctors, fix that!

Affordable Healthcare Act, that is an oxymoron! Are you kidding? We are not idiots! Less than 40% of the people in the US want this healthcare change.

There is nothing to say you “have to move the ball forward” at this pace. You do not even know what is in the bill, you have not read the bill.

How are you proposing you monitor who buys healthcare
and who does not? You are planning to fine people or put people in jail who do not buy healthcare? What about the illegal aliens? Also, if people do not have jobs how are they going to buy health insurance? Unemployment is at a 26 year high, are you nuts!

The current bill pays for abortions, this is unacceptable!

Small businesses are going to be taxed to death under your plan, how are they going to carry the burden of the cost of health care, people will just not hire full time people, why should they?

Survival rates for Cancer patients are lower in the UK and Australia than they are in the United States, why? Because access to health care does not mean better survival rates. If it takes you forever to see a MD, you could die or your cancer can go into another stage by the time you are diagnosed and treated. Is that what you want for us? Poor survival rate for Cancer? Oh, I guess we can always use your end of life counseling at that point.

Do you know how many members AARP has lost over this entire issue? I am one of them! You do not work for AARP or the AMA and they did not elect you, the people in your district did, so it is time you started listening to them instead of Nancy Pelosi!
Do you know how many doctors are not members of the AMA? Do you know how many doctors do not support this? Why not look into that!

Name one government program that has stayed within the budget and run efficiently. Go ahead name one. The government cannot run the Post Office or Medicare, why should you be able to run healthcare? Look at your Cash for Clunkers program, each car cost us American Taxpayers $24,000 for each car. Yet the Democrats thought it was a huge success.

Oh, and by the way, unemployment at a 26 year high, did I mention that? You should be focused on jobs, not healthcare.

Who wants an adult of 27 year of age on their parents healthcare, hello! Tell your kids to go out and get a job and pay for your own health care, oh, I forgot, unemployment is at a 26 year high so there are no jobs. You are just going to create a society of young people who are dependent on the government for everything.

Easing burdens on the Emergency Rooms will come with Immigration Reform. Again, there is no way for you to enforce people to buy insurance, if they do not have a job, how do they do that? How are you going to make illegal aliens purchase medical insurance, they came here illegally why should they all of a sudden purchase healthcare?

You need to have Tort Reform in the bill!

I am very disappointed in your lack of respect for your constituents.

I will not forget your position when it comes to election time, I will work hard to work for someone who will be respectful of the position to represent me in Congress.
