Today is the 8th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on America by terrorists. Nearly 3,000 brave souls perished in this sensless tragedy.

ASU West College Republicans to host 9/11 Memorial event featuring Gov. Jan Brewer, KFYI Radio host Mike Broomhead and others.
Friday September 11, 2009, Phoenix, AZ- As part of a statewide College Republican 9/11 memorial event, the college Republicans at ASU West, will host Governor Jan Brewer, radio host Mike Broomhead, Representatives Jim Weiers and Sam Crump, ASU West Student Body President Andrew Clark and Mike McAvoy; who lost friends and family on 9/11.
The Memorial will also feature 2,977 U.S. Flags, one for every victim of the attacks. The event will start at 10:00 until 2:00 pm on Friday September 11th and will be located on Fletcher Lawn of ASU’s West Campus.
The event is designed to honor those that lost their lives in the worst terrorist attack in American history. According to West College Republican President Michael McKitterick;
“We feel that it is important to have this event in memory of those that lost their lives on 9/11. We also believe that it is imperative for the personal stories of how 9/11 affected our leaders to be told to both ASU students and the community.”
