Governor Jan Brewer stands between the RNC's Team Jurassic leader, Randy Pullen, and Team Millenium leader, Michael STEELE in 2007. Who could've seen this 2009 show-down coming?
Capping off some of the most volatile few months in Republican politics, both locally and nationally, RNC Chairman, Michael STEELE......the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' of the future generations of Republicans......swings his light-saber right here in Phoenix.
Steele is a last-minute addition to the NRA Convention's opening general-membership meeting, the "Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum" taking place today from 12:00 Noon - 4:30 pm at US Airways Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

Senator John McCain and Governor Jan Brewer are Arizona's featured speakers. Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and former Massachusetts Governor and Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, will also address the NRA members. The event is not open to the public and NRA members must have tickets to attend the forum.
Chairman Steele has been meeting with supporters in California for the last couple of days and Politico Mafioso is thrilled that Steele was able to accommodate a brief stop in Phoenix on his way back East. He is the keynote speaker tomorrow morning at the Georgia GOP State Convention in Savannah but found time to feel the heat here in Arizona.
Steele has a nastier schedule next week, when the Republican National Committee is convened for a "special" meeting in Washington D. C. on May 20, 2009.
Many of the old-guard RNC Members are at odds with Steele's unconventional public honesty and reality based assessments regarding the future of the GOP. Steele has not only been bold in his diagnosis of the Republican Party, he has been a heckuva fundraiser.
This morning, the RNC announced that Steele raised $5.7 million in April - bringing the 2009 total to over $25 million, all debt-free. For some RNC members, that still won't be reason enough to support Steele.
RNC Treasurer and AZ GOP Chairman, Randy Pullen, is the leader of that group: RNC's 'Team Jurassic'.The RNC Dinosaurs gathered enough fossil prints to call the special meeting - where the members of the RNC will vote on several WHEREAS resolutions - like the ones Pullen is so often associated with here in Arizona.
Pullen has been working with former RNC General Counsel David Norcross, the Republican National Conservative Caucus and Indiana RNC member James Bopp to keep the "White Good Ol' Boys Club" as the defacto leaders of the GOP.
Just when Randy Pullen and 'Team Jurassic' thought they were about to enter the arena and win the biggest dogfight of their political lives - in walks the 'Big Slim Dog....back up in the heezy Baby!'.Picture the teams right before the big game jumping up and down and shouting: "Whose house? Our house? Whose house? Our house?"
Steele's sneak appearance in the backyard of RNC Treasurer Randy Pullen - right before the big fight - is a big move. A delicious move. The right move. A smart move. A move that deserves its own algorithm.A move that only someone who is playing for real would pull. I told you before Mr. Pullen, Steele ain't playin'.
