Friends--Whether you attended a tax day tea party or not undoubtedly you heard about the event.
The real benefit of the Boston Tea Party in pre revolutionary days was not the event itself but the history that was made from it . The same might apply to these 2009 Tea Parties. While these were far more civil than the original tea party in Boston Harbor many feel the results could be just as dramatic.
Please listen to my newest addition of "Something To Consider......"
The sense I felt at the Tucson Tea Party and what I get when I attend GOP meetings is that we are where the democrats were in 1995 or 2005. More and more Republicans signing up as precinct committeemen and women. More and more people showing up to Republican clubs and legislative meetings.
Apathy and complacency before the 2008 election started to change to fear of the new administration has now become commitment to make a change in how our city, state and nation are governed in the upcoming elections.
While some well meaning people believe government should play a greater role in the life of all Americans we don't agree and believe we should live free and benefit from the merits of capitalism and hard work.
While some Americans feel taxes are too low we feel that all Americans should keep more of their hard earned money and that the government acting as a middle man will never do as good a job taxing and spending our money as the American public can.
Tea parties across America have signed up thousands of new voters and activists. Excitement is building and change may not be far away. Working together in unity we have an opportunity to prevail.
I look forward to any comment you might have on the Tea Party. Congratulations to all of the Tea Party organizers.

Before you start laying claim to this being a republican event, it was NOT!
Bush started this slide into fiscal irresponsibility and until 3 years ago, his Congress spent like drunken sailors as well.
I was at the Columbus Ohio Tea Party and there were equally republicans and democrats and independents present.
Frankly for the RNC to even begin to take ANY responsibility for this is VERY, VERY wrong! Don't take us for granted because while we are mad at the Obama administration, had the Republican Congress and Bush not been so irresponsible for this fiscal mess, you might be able to pound your chest. BUT THIS IS AMERICANS, not republicans who had the Tea Parties and we will NOT be co-opted by the Republican party with it's earmark loving Senators and Representatives!
What you saw all across America was the beginning of a 3rd party. We are digusted with BOTH parties!
Jennifer no one is making claim that this was a 'Republican' event. Only the MSM was trying that. Mr. Ash was only doing a 'commentary', I am sorry you took it the wrong way.
BTW, the Congress has been led by the Democrats for the past 2 years. You can't blame Republicans anymore.
My Senators & Representatives don't take Earmakes (Arizona gets the fewest Earmarks in the US).
If you think a 3rd Party does any good, just remember Ross Perot? The guy who got Bill Clinton elected twice. 3rd Party takes from the GOP and gives it to the D's. After Obama's first 100 days, I think people would take back George W. Bush in a second!
