News from AZGOP - AZGOP CHAIRMAN: OBAMA SPEECH A 'NOTHING BURGER'

AZGOP CHAIRMAN: OBAMA SPEECH A ‘NOTHING BURGER’

Phoenix, AZ – Chairman Randy Pullen today characterized President Obama’s economic address as a giant “nothing burger” offering little of substance while leaving a bad taste in the mouths of Americans continuing to struggle with our languishing economy.

“President Obama’s remarks during today’s address at Georgetown amounted to more of the same,” said Chairman Pullen. “He continues to try and convince us of his plans to spend our way back
into prosperity are working, and Americans are not buying it. And neither is the market evidently, which responded to his speech with a resounding thud, down in over 100 points today.

“The President seems to be tempering his expectations with a dose of reality, which is refreshing, but offered few if any solutions this crisis, except for rationalizing the fact that he has straddled future generations with mountains of debt nearly impossible to pay off.”

“Americans are clamoring for real leadership and real results, and this President seems to be comfortable with running around Europe bad mouthing the United States. President Obama and his
administration have the same approach towards dealing with economic problems that Janet Napolitano had in Arizona; why make difficult decisions today, when you can put them off until tomorrow? Times are difficult right now, and we need results, not rhetoric. ”
