As the chairman of the Arizona Federation of College Republicans, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of our progress this year. Right now, across our great state, the Arizona College Republicans are gearing up for the 2010 elections, and as you know, we have an uphill climb. President Obama was able to garner an enormous amount of support on college campuses in 2008, and it is our responsibility to defend Republican principles and shine light on his generational theft.
Over the past few months, our organization has been working with leaders such as yourself to brainstorm ways that College Republicans can help revamp the Republican brand. At our February State Board meeting, sponsored by your generous contributions, College Republicans from around the state paired with Party leaders and elected officials to devise comprehensive strategies on topics such as recruitment and retention, fundraising, and activism. Each of our chapters around the state are implementing these strategies to improve our effectiveness as an organization. Many of these ideas, we believe, could be applied on a grander scale as a framework for positive Party reform. Please consider a contribution of $100, $50, $20, or even $10 today, so we can continue to hold these important meetings.
The Arizona College Republicans has always been a strong grassroots organization and our activists continue to work to get Republicans elected. Over the course of the 2008 election cycle, our organization reached out to over 100,000 voters, doubling our voter outreach efforts in the 2006 election. Our members worked on dozens of campaigns, and several College Republicans traveled to New Mexico and Georgia to help in other states. Furthermore, our membership numbers have more than doubled from 5,000 to 11,017 in the past year.
We are a growing organization and we understand the impact we can have in the 2010 elections, however, our strength and past successes are largely due to generous contributions. That is why we are asking you to donate $100, $50, $20, or even $10 today!
As the future of this country, we understand that the 2010 elections have the potential to send a real message to President Obama and the Democrats in Congress and we are excited and ready to face these challenges. We will exercise all of our available resources to train and equip our members to excel at grassroots activism. We are excited about this opportunity, but we need your help!
