For the last week, all we have heard is that the Phoenix Suns were going to trade away Amare Stoudemire & Shaquille o'Neal.
But during the All-Star Weekend here in Phoenix, the worst kept secret was that the Suns would fire 1st year coach Terry Porter.
Monday came & Porter was fired. Alvin Gentry was tagged as the Interim Coach. Gentry, a long time Suns Assistant (5 years), said at Monday's Press Conference that the Suns would go back to the 'Run & Gun' Suns of the past few years.
WOW! Last night, the 'Real' Suns stomped the LA Clippers 140 - 100. Granted, it was the Clippers, but the Suns ran up & down the floor at 'break neck' speed. Coach Gentry used the entire bench (something I've been wanting for years), and kept the minutes of the starters down (Steve Nash only 25 minutes).
Tonight the Suns travel to LA to play the Clippers again. GO SUNS!!!
