Thanks to the Eagles defeating the NY Giants yesterday, the ARIZONA CARDINALS will host the NFC Championship game next Sunday @ the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
When tickets went on sale yesterday, they sold out in in 7 Minutes. Thousands of Cardinal fans stood in line to get tickets. This is the first time this town has been this charged up over one of our sports teams since 2001 when the DiamondBacks won the World Series!
Aren't the cities of Mesa & Phoenix kicking themselves for not allowing the Stadium to be built in their communities? Mesa voted the Stadium down; former Phoenix Mayor Skip Rimzsa didn't want the Stadium downtown. I always thought the best place for the Stadium was Glendale; remember in the beginning of this, the late Developer John F. Long was willing to donate property near where the Stadium is now located, but was turned down.
The success of the Cardinals is more than just sports. WHEN THE CARDINALS WIN next Sunday, they will be in the Super Bowl, the Biggest Sporting Event of each year! This town will be flooded with press from all over the world.
Just look at the success last year with hosting the BCS National Title Game & the Super Bowl. The Cardinals are giving the local economy a huge boost at a great time with this Playoff run.
GO CARDINALS!!!
