Multiple sources have contacted Politico Mafioso to confirm that former LD-11 Chairman ROB HANEY is running for Maricopa County Republican Committee Chairman (MCRC).
Haney, long known on this Blog as "The Emperor", was recently defeated by STEVE TULLY for LD-11 Chairman.
Haney, who spends more time going after fellow Republicans other than helping to defeat Democrats, has launched his campaign for this position.
This will be an interesting election. We will update this as we get the information.

We just received this letter sent by Rob Haney to LD-11 PC's:
PC Team:
The opposition turned out their votes, and we did not. Our team did a terrific job in September in getting our PCs elected, but we lost in the follow-through on November 25th. Had those who committed to attend actually showed, we would have won. It is a team effort and everyone must complete their assigned role for the team to win. The following is information you should know about the election and the Republican party.
Attached is my 2 minute speech from the meeting which you were unable to hear because of the discourtesy shown from Steve Tully's supporters led by McCain's Presidential Campaign Chair for AZ and Napolitano for Governor endorser, Wes Gullett.
Incidentally, Tully had spoken for over six minutes and kept going even when I asked for a point of order because he had clearly broken the two minute per speech rules. Another rule that was also broken was the admission of 2 late proxy votes for Tully. Attendees should not be able to overrule the accepted credentials committee report to allow two proxies which were delivered late, no matter what the reason.
This is another example of abuse of political power by the McCain supporting and Tully backing PCs. Tully is a lawyer, and he and Gullett have both served as McCain staffers, and knew exactly what they were doing. Tully could have stopped this abuse, but chose not to do so.
The statement from Tully that the PCs did not help the candidates was the most egregious distortion of the night. Did he check with the county or state headquarters or with the candidates to see who had been assisting in making calls?
I would like to know which candidates told him they had received no help. Did he check with Adam Driggs or Jon Altmann to see how many $5 forms or petitions were turned in for them by PCs or how many PCs were involved in canvassing walks in the precincts? I did not keep stats for the candidates, but I can tell Steve that Marne and I turned in over 50 $5 forms and scores of petitions for our candidates as well as others and petitions for many propositions.
I know other PCs did so as well. Why would Tully make such a denigrating accusation about our PCs? This type of tactic is what has become standard fare from the McCain side. The election, contrary to what Steve maintained, was not about the loss of a Republican seat in the AZ House.
Rather, it was all about an orchestrated attack by the Congressional Delegation on dedicated PCs in numerous districts who have voiced opposition to the delegation's illegal alien Amnesty positions.
Further, we are repeatedly told that we are causing polarization and divisiveness in the party, and we must now unify under McCain-style leadership. This is the same leadership team which gave us the second consecutive disastrous election results in a two year span.
They are now telling us we must adopt Democrat policies to be successful in elections. Marne and I can't accept that. We would like to see unity under a principle, not a personality.
In future campaigns, when you are asked to help Representative Driggs, Senator Leff or any other candidate, you might ask them who they voted for in the 11/25 election. Let their answer guide you in whom you support.
I know we face an implacable foe in the four McCain Congressional Delegation members for Amnesty. They are willing to sacrifice the country to those who would benefit from non-enforcement of our immigration laws. Remember that our Founders faced far greater dangers than we do when they pledged, " Our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."
All we are asked to pledge is our support by showing up to vote for those working on our behalf.
Republican Party leaders Arpaio, Pearce, Thomas, Pullen and others are standing up to take the blows from those who should reflect our beliefs, but do not. Please care enough to let them know you appreciate the sacrifices they are making on your behalf.
They need a base of support. They will not get it from our Congressional Delegation. But you can provide this base by electing internal party leaders who will support these courageous politicians.
Your next opportunity to do this will occur for PCs on Saturday, January 10th and for the newly elected State Committemen on Saturday, January 24th at the County and State leadership elections.
I will close with a quote from Samuel Adams sent to me by one of our outstanding PCs, Florence Smith:
"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate and tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

When Rob Haney lost to Steve Tully, Haney yelled 'RINO, RINO, RINO' when Tully gave his speech. Talk about sore losers?
Tully was no RINO when he was in the legislature. He was arrogant, but a good conservative. Two years ago he was a faithful Symington supporter, but they came up short. Altmann lost because high-profile Republicans associated with that district are self-centered. There was no teamwork between three legislative candidates or the chairman.
Has Rob Haney had his carotid arteries checked lately? The anger, the outbursts, the fixation on self, are all things my father demonstrated before his heart failed him - fatally.
Pop's right artery was 100% occluded and the left was 70%. He was only getting 15% of the necessary oxygen to his brain. He acted like it for a long time before the docs figured it out & then it was too late.
Haney's antics and impulsive rage are demonstrative of a deeper, physiological or psychological problem. He's living on the edge of illness or insanity.
Hand over the keys Rob. I'm sorry to tell you, you have been eliminated from the race.
