Tim Bee: Does Giffords stand with Obama’s Extremist Agenda?

Tucson, AZ – Tim Bee questioned the Obama extreme position of taking more energy sources off the table “Does Gabrielle Giffords agree that coal is not an acceptable source of energy? Does Giffords agree with Obama’s extremist view that overregulation will force energy companies out of business?”

Giffords record is clear. She has been against accessing our own resources. When given the chance to vote on an all-of-the-above energy policy, she said “no”.

Obama’s direct quote is: "What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as an ideological matter." A further quote, which broke in the media today: "So, if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them…" He says he would impose regulations so stringent that coal would be wiped out, "because they're [coal plant owners] going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." Gabrielle Giffords campaign literature explains it well.

“It’s the fossil fuels we insist on burning – particularly oil
and coal – that are the single greatest cause of global warming…Weaning ourselves off Mideast oil and moving towards energy independence makes sense for our economy, our national security, and our environment.”

Her radical stance on the environment will force further dependence on foreign sources of energy. Giffords is wrong again. In these troubling economic times, she would work to force further stifling barriers on business.

According to the
Energy Information Administration, coal makes up over 51% of American energy.

According to the National Association of Manufacturers, these extreme positions could cost Arizona from
65,000 to 85,000 jobs by 2030. Her extremist views continue to hurt us.
