Out of you, NOTHING WILL!!!
Fresh off Iran's setting of preconditions for meeting with the United States, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Ari Larijani, said today that the Islamic Republic would prefer it if Sen. Barack Obama was elected President of the United States.
"We are leaning more in favor of Barack Obama because he is more
flexible and rational, even though we know American policy will not change that much."Sen. Obama has said that he would sit down for face-to face meetings with the leaders of Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, and Cuba, "without preconditions."
Iran has a different idea, and yesterday the Vice President for Media Affairs said that the United States must first remove all of its troops from the Middle East and drop all support for Israel if it wants to meet with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. That was surely the opening salvo in what will be a negotiation of sorts between Iran and a potential Obama administration over what Sen. Obama now likes to call, "preparations," for an eventual meeting.
Today's follow up statement from Larijani makes it abundantly clear which presidential candidate Iran believes will give it the best deal.
