Representative 'BEAUTIFUL'?

Lyric MySpace Graphics

Quote of the week: "My response is, 'Don't hate me because I'm beautiful'." - Rep. Sam Crump, responding to criticism that he, like his opponent Tony Bouie, has received money from the anti-employer-sanctions crowd. Crump said that doesn't paint him as an illegal-immigration sympathizer (he voted for employer sanctions) but rather as a popular politician

I stumbled upon this in the newspaper yesterday. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. Crump thought he was making a snide comment but ended up looking like the fool. What a joke! We should all address him as "Representative Beautiful" from now on.

Keep in mind, this is a guy who corrects lobbyists who call him Sam and tells them to call him Representative Crump

What an ego! This is the best laugh I've had in a long time. Thank God for Tony Bouie as our only hope for decent representation of LD 6.

How about even more irony from "Representative Crump" (wouldn't want to offend hizzoner). In 2006, when Gorman and Carpenter moved up to run for Senate and the two seats were open, there was a lot of consternation from conservatives about supporting Crump. You see, Crump supported higher taxes in CA and (sorry Jeff) his support of Clancy over Gorman in '04 had also made conservatives a little skeptical about Crump. But they overlooked it for one reason - the perception that Crump was a far lesser evil than Seel. So, in other words, they backed Crump to stop Seel. Yet Crump wasn't willing to return the favor.
