For the past 2 months, I have received many e-mails and phone calls from fellow District 6 citizens (many from Anthem) asking me this question. 'What the hell is Sam Crump doing?' Well, now we have the answer.
Rep. Sam Crump came out yesterday and endorsed perennial candidate Carl Seel in the LD-6 House race.
SAM CRUMP HAS LIED TO THE VOTERS
OF DISTRICT 6!!!
The photo to the right, was taken at a District 6 meeting 2 months ago. At that meeting, I asked Rep. Crump, in front of others, if he was endorsing Carl Seel. He said, "NO I am not endorsing or running with Carl Seel or anyone else. I am running on my own".
As late as last weeks Candidate Forum in New River, Crump told the audience that he wasn't endorsing anyone. Well Mr. Crump, YOU LIED!
Sam Crump was the mayor of Sebastopol, CA a small community located in the Northern part of the state. In 1998, he ran for the California State Assembly. He lost.
So in 2002, he moved to Anthem. He told friends that he moved here to become a Congressman. Pretty arrogant don't you think for someone who just moved here?
He ran for his present job in 2004 and won. Earlier this year, when Congressman John Shadegg thought about retiring, Crump jumped at the chance.
Found this quote on Mr. Crump:
"Sam Crump is running again, though he jumped at the chance to run
for the U.S. Congress when Congressman John Shadegg briefly withdrew from the
2008 Congressional race. To put it bluntly, Sam really is not interested in representing us at the State Capitol: He would rather be in Washington D.C. In fact, Sam’s roots in District 6 are very shallow. Sam moved to Anthem in 2002 to run for the State Legislature in a reliably Republican district after losing an election for the Legislature in California. "
Personally I am very disappointed in Sam. From the huge number of phone calls I received yesterday on this, many others are too.
Why is he now following the Maricopa County RobHaney Committee line of thinking? This entire matter goes back to a falling out between Sam Crump & out-going LD-6 Rep. Doug Clark. I still don't know what the big rift was, but I will find out. Tony Bouie is the innocent victim of this and he doesn't deserve all the BS & LIES being spread by these 'people'!
"I'VE OBSERVED HIS STYLE WITH PEOPLE, AND I DON'T RESPECT IT."
Rep. SAM CRUMP on CARL SEEL - AZ Capitol Times 8/18/06
Sam Crump has now sent out a "BEG LETTER" this morning asking for $$$ for him and his new 'Best Buddy" Con-Man CARL SEEL. Boy is Clean Elections Going to have fun with this?

Where's the lie exactly? I see a guy who changed his mind perhaps. So, your boy McCain does that all the time. I'm afraid in your effort to support a weak candidate, your mind has seriously fogged over with ineptitude.
Ah, so you're unable to answer the question, just attack me personally. Says a lot abut your integrity Tony.
Spelling errors...damn. OK A. What about this posting don't you understand? Sam Crump, on more than one occasion, said he was NOT endorsing ANYONE. But now, all of a sudden, Carl Seel, 5 time loser candidate is now his 'best pal'? Your the one with zero credibility since you don't have the guts to post with anything but 'anonymous'!
GOPRANO,
You are dead on about Crump. From what I have been told, here is the falling out. It's never been a secret that Crump wants to be in Congress. He jumped at the chance earlier this year. Apparently, with assumption of that Shadegg would soon retire, he asked Gorman's and his consultant to choose between the two of them this year for a race that may never happen. He was unwilling to choose Crump over Gorman. Sam took that to mean that Gorman and Clark and their consultant were now against him. When Clark retired, he sought out Crump to help find a good candidate. Crump wanted no part of it and tried to spin it as Clark et al..cutting him out of the loop. Its really unfortunate, but Crump's paranoia and ambition have really clouded his judgment and now he has thrown in with a candidate that he attacked two years ago. Pretty sad actually.
Sorry about the typo from my iPhone, though that's a pretty lame thing to criticize me for. Can you explain your misuse of capitalization?
I understand your post just fine. It's your inept conclusion that changing one's mind over time should be construed as a lie. That makes McCain, for whom I'm voting, one of the biggest liars of all by your standards. He changed his mind on Bush's tax cuts, correctly, and about off-shore drilling, correctly. By your standards, that makes McCain a liar. But based on your support for Bouie, I see lying is not something that concerns you in politicians. What character flaws do bother you, just so I know through what filter I should read your blog?
A#1, I didn't accuse you of mispelling, that was my mistake (why I deleted that comment). Sadly, the Comment By A#2 is 100% correct. This was all confirmed to me this evening by a phone call from a 'political insider' who is a very credible source. Much more to come on this mess I promise!
I find it interesting that to find a negative quote on Crump, you have to go to the Democrat challenger Jack Doody website.
There will be PLENTY of comments about Crump after this endorsement of Seel. If you only knew Mr.A#1? LOL!
