Newly re-elected Arizona Republican National Committeeman
BRUCE ASH answered a post on the Red State Arizona NOT Republican, BOB BARR LOVING Blog yesterday concerning the recent Arizona Republican State Convention last Saturday.
I spoke yeterday to Mr. Ash before this was posted and was going to write about it. But Mr. Ash's words are much more eloguent than mine would have been:
Dear Squish--
Sorry but you just have your facts wrong.
First of all if you know Randy Pullen you would also know that is not how he or the AZGOP operates. Secondly, no one needed to threaten anyone to act or vote a certain way at the convention.
John McCain does not "owe" anyone. He won Super Tuesday convincingly as well as fair and square. It was in the best interest of the McCain Campaign to work with the AZGOP just as it was in our best interest to work for a Unity Slate. ALL parties benefitted by the cooperation which will go a long ways to victory in November.
The Ron Paul "revolution" did not happen in Arizona because it never got off the ground to begin with.
It didn't happen on Super Tuesday and it failed to materialize saturday because there was only a smattering of support he ever enjoyed.
The AZGOP ran the convention right down the middle. There were at least 3 slates I saw being run from many positions. In the end the Unity Slate won and no one had to be coerced to vote for it. There were no goons out there and it was a secret ballot supervised by the Maricopa County Recorder who ran a very tight ship.
Sheesh.......if you were there for the convention you could have seen all this for yourself.
The GOP base DID vote and speak at the state convention as well as Super Tuesday when they gave Arizona to John McCain.
It is high time that we begin to get in line to save America and support John McCain. You think you have some grievances with him. Fine, perhaps you do. What sort of differences do you think you will have if Senator Obama is elected and what chances do we have to sit at the table as a stake holder?
Have you heard Senator Obama has been endorsed by Hamas for crying out loud.
One Arizona blog has been asking who is the RINO? I'll tell you who the RINO is.......anyone who won't support the party's nominees and can't get over themselves.

The true base of the party will help elect John
McCain this fall and the benefits to all Arizona Republicans should be
considerable.

Friends....it is time we put aside our
differences , hitch up our pants , dig into our pockets , roll up our sleeves and go to work for our Grand Old Party rather than bitching about it and spreading all sorts of falsehoods that further create dissension.
