'Service To America Tour' Day 2 - McCain at Episcopal High School By Patrick Hynes

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Anyone out there concerned about the future of America may want to stop by and visit Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA, as I had the pleasure of doing on Day Two of Sen. McCain's "Service to America Tour."

These kids were really well-behaved, polite and bright. If Sen. McCain was half as rambunctious as he is said to have been in Faith of My Fathers he must really have stood out. Of course, it's always possible these young men and women were on their very best behavior because the senator's visit today was a special occasion, an important moment, and they are otherwise not above the occasional act of rebellion. This was an important piece of Sen. McCain's remarks—recognizing the difference between letting off some steam and behaving dishonorably.

NRO blogger Jim Geragty has some observations about the honor code Sen. McCain lived by as an Episcopal student, an honor code students still adhere to today.

Phil Klein from the American Spectator also has some thoughts.

The real star of the show today though was William B. Ravenel, the English teacher and football coach who seems to have been the first person not named McCain to have played a role in helping Sen. McCain to mature and develop. Mr. Ravenel is the subject of a new campaign video:
