I Pledge Allegiance...
Nineteen years ago Ted Levitt discovered that his son’s school no longer recited the Pledge of Allegiance. At that time he also began to hear more and more chatter from "the locals" about people all over the country burning Old Glory.
So he decided that every weekday morning at 8:30 AM and every weekend morning at 9:30 AM he would recite the Pledge through his speaker system of his downtown Annapolis restaurant, Chick and Ruth;s Delly (yes, that's spelled correctly). And thus a tradition was born; a tradition Sen. John McCain partook in this morning. Here's some video, blurry and bouncy though it is:
The place was mobbed, but there with the senator was his wife Cindy, Sen. John Warner, former Maryland Gov. Bobby Ehrlich and former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele.

We stopped by the office of Operation Welcome Home at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport before our flight to Florida. These amazing folks, led by Kathy Thorp and John Flynn, greet the troops when they land at BWI. Operation Welcome Home is an all volunteer organization of decent people who go out of their way to let the men and women serving in our Armed Services know they are loved and appreciated:
