Why is the Sonoran Alliance bashing Sheriff Joe Arpaio?

Shane, say it isn't so bro? An article posted yesterday called "Dan Saban vs. Joe Arpaio" details how 'some Republicans', and I quote,
"Quietly are applauding Saban’s decision to challenge Arpaio. Many
believe someone like Saban may finally be able to unseat the longstanding
sheriff who has bluntly placed his reputation and notoriety at the same level of
performing his duties."

What kind of crap is this?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is ONE of the 2 most honorable men I have ever met. (John McCain being the other). How can they go after Sheriff Joe when he has done so much to help Republicans? Who is the most popular Guest for Republican events? Sheriff Joe Arpaio, that's who.

Arpaio works tirelessly for Republican causes and groups. He gives freely of his time, look at all the events for the GOP that he attends. Look how much money he helps Republicans raise for their clubs and/or LD's? He doesn't have to do this; Sheriff Joe is the hardest working public official that I know. He makes the time to help out his party, the Republican Party.

And here is the HUGE kicker about this. Joe Arpaio has done more for the Alliance's candidate of choice for President, Mitt Romney, that ANY other political office holder in the country.
Kind of ironic that the same people
that constantly bash John McCain are now doing the same to Joe
Arpaio?

One reason the SA is doing this is that back in 2002, Sheriff Arpaio made a promotional video for the Governor. Many thought that was an endorsement. Now folks lets end this BS once and for all.

SHERIFF JOE DID NOT

ENDORSE JANET

NAPOLITANO!!!

GET THAT

THROUGH YOUR THICK

SKULLS!!!

Which Republicans are happy about Saban running against Sheriff Joe? Rick Romley, former Maricopa County Attorney, who for years has hated Arpaio. Romley, who thought that President Bush would appoint him as the Veterans Affairs Secretary (guess that one didn't work out did it Rick?), has been on his anti-Arpaio kick ever since he left office. Did anyone else notice that NO democratic Party Elected Officials have come out and endorsed Dan Saban?

There is a reason for that. Saban, a long time wanna-be Sheriff, used to be a Republican. Plus the fact that Saban is such a scum bag that no one with a brain would endorse this guy. Saban is just an opportunist who is using the dems to 'try' to beat Sheriff Joe. Sorry Black Bart, but you wouldn't qualify to be a deputy in the Sheriff's office. Rumors have it that Saban is being forced out of his job in Buckeye as Sheriff there.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a very popular figure in Arizona, you could even call him a Icon. He is the ONLY Law Enforcement Officer who is dealing with the Illegal Immigration problem. His job approval numbers are excellent:

From the KAET-Cronkite Poll Nov 20, 2007

5. What about your overall opinion of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio? Is your overall opinion of him very positive, generally positive, somewhat negative or very negative?

very positive 32% (35)
generally positive 29 (30)
somewhat negative 18 (18)
very negative 17 (17)
don't know/no opinion 4

71% Positive! What politician in today's world has those kind of ratings? No One!

So if there are Republicans who want to see Sheriff Joe out, come out and endorse Saban. Hope your not a Republican Precinct Committeeman? Remember the new MCRC rules:

Located on Page 17 of the MCRC Bylaws:

Section 5 - Elections Neutrality

B.
Endorsements of Non-Republican Candidates

No member of the MCRC
shall lend an endorsement to a non-Republican candidate in any election. Should
a MCRC member endorse a non-Republican, that MCRC member will lose his voting
privileges, including proxies, for the rest of his
term.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is an honorable, hard working public servant. He will win easily in the 2008 Election, this from AZ GOP Chairman Randy Pullen:

Randy Pullen Says:
January 21st, 2008 at 9:11 pm

This race will not even be close.
The Sheriff in a walk.

I agree with Chairman Pullen. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is my friend. I would stand with that man ANYTIME, ANYPLACE!!!

In the past four years, I have complained about the President, both of our Senators, some of our representatives in Congress, and I do not know how many other people who have caused these crises that makes each federal election a life-or-death proposition. Do we want to elect real people, or people who only play at government, lose American jobs, and put us in jeopardy because we are threatened while they ignore the threats as if at the end of the day, the bad guys will take their ball and go home.

About the only thing that we in Arizona have going for us now is we just don't have to worry about Joe! The president won't get rid of the illegal aliens, but Joe will. The governor won't keep us safe from the riff-raff, but Joe will. And if terrorism ever revisits these shores and crosses our state-line, they gotta get through Joe first, and that will not be easy. Outside of Joe, God's the only other one I trust.

Tony,
I could not have said it better. It is beyond comprehension why a conservative Blog such as the Snoran Alliance would give any ink to a switch hitter pedaling between major political parties.
Someone must have a loose screw here, or a wing nut with a left hand thread.

I get such a kick out of politics

Arpaio was a huge Romney guy and I personally heard him go after McCain and by all indications he hated the guy..Oh yeah but that was before Romney dropped out...I am sure McCain is a new man and now has changed so that Joe can support him. Tony---are you that maliable ?
