John McCain led all Republicans yesterday with 42% conservative buzz share in Wonkosphere, twice as much as second-place Mitt Romney (21%). Given the MSM is giving them about equal attention, this must mean that either mainstream conservative bloggers are talking about McCain v. Romney 2:1 (unlikely), or McCain supporters are blogging a lot more than Romney supporters. Other Wonkosphere evidence supports the latter; since January 1, we have received 32 requests to add blogs to our directory, and 22 have come from McCain fans. Additionally, The Mad Irishman’s Conservative Consortium dominated our conservative buzz share column (which is generated automatically by computer) for about eight hours yesterday. Posts about McCain have also been above average now in tone for seven straight days. Kudos to McCain supporters, who I expect to enjoy a 35-32 victory tonight.
Elsewhere in Wonkosphere, Mike Huckabee dropped below 20% conservative buzz today, and Ron Paul fell below 10%. Not much movement on the Dem side, although Clinton did move ahead of Obama in liberal buzz share yesterday, 43-41%.
Note: Congratulations to that MAD Irishman!!!
