Unopposed and Undeniably Proud of Tempe's Success
TEMPE, Ariz - January 29, 2008 - Don't be surprised if you are watching election coverage tonight or during the next month and catch a campaign commercial for Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman. He's only the third mayor in Tempe's history to run unopposed, but Hallman is still spending thousands of campaign dollars to run TV ads promoting Tempe as "The Great Arizona City."
"I started the month by running in the PF Chang's Half- Marathon to raise over $100,000 for local charities. I'm finishing the month running campaign commercials because I want people to know what a great place Tempe is to live and do business," says Mayor Hallman, who is seeking his second term.
"These days it's great to be in Tempe. No more
developer subsidies. Crime is down. Wonderful things are happening. Our
television spot celebrates these achievements to all the people who live, work
or who are interested in doing business in the most dynamic city in Arizona,"
Hallman said.
The spot will beginning airing Jan. 29 and will run through Tempe's March election. The ads will air on Fox, CNN and MSNBC and will run in different parts of the Valley in addition to Tempe, depending on the program.
