SIOUX CITY -- John McCain was uniquely created to serve as president during this time in history. First, he is the ultimate patriot, having served in our military and shown his deep love for our nation in a way that most of us can't bear to imagine. Second, a lifetime of experience has given him a quiet humility that guides his toughest choices. Third, he wants to serve as president, not to prove himself or to collect accolades, but because our country needs his form of steady leadership now.
The next four years will be made up of hard choices with little glory and will require John McCain’s work ethic, experience and unshakable commitment to do what is right. Finally in a world full of deeply conflicting views, it is sometimes hard to know who is telling the truth and the fact is that John McCain is honest about where he and we stand as a nation.
John McCain is the candidate with the ability to lead America through this difficult time in our history. The person that moves into the White House in January 2009 will inherit a nation under threat by global terrorism, anxious about our economic strength and feeling some insecurity about our future in a way that many of our citizens have never lived through before.
It is during our greatest struggles that we have determined the kind of nation we will be. This election is a critical moment.
