The ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS, a team of talented youngsters, Sweep the Chicago Cubs to advance to the NL Championship Series vs the Colorado Rockies starting Thursday night in Phx.
Former World Series MVP LIVAN HERNANDEZ pitched 6 strong innings in the 5 - 1 victory over the Cubs in Game 3. This D-Back team is something special. I am sure the MSM will pick the Rockies to beat us; NO WAY, D-Backs in 6 games...
The ASU Sun Devils escaped Pullman with a 23- 20 win over Washington State Saturday afternoon. Big win on the road for the Devils; ASU is now 6 - 0 for the 1st time since 1996 & in a 1st place tie for the lead in the PAC-10.
Thomas Weber kicked the game winning 37 yard FG with 50 seconds remaining. Both the Offense & Defense must step it up a notch next week @ home vs the Washington Huskies....BYW, I was WAY off on this one. (Must be thinking like 'Tommy the Greek'?)
The ARIZONA CARDINALS beat the St. Louis Rams 34- 31 this afternoon to take over 1st place in the NFC West.
Starting QB MATT LEINART was injured in the 2nd Qtr, a possible fractured left clavicle and maybe out for weeks. KURT WARNER stepped in and led the Cards to win number 3.
The Defense, which played horrible in the 1st half, stepped up the pressure on Rams QB Gus Frerotte in the 2nd Half, and forced 2 interceptions to help cement the win.
Next up for the Cards, the Carolina Panthers next Sunday @ Univ of Phx Stadium.
