Phoenix City Council passes 'Texting while Driving' Ban
The Phoenix City Council, by a vote of 8 to 1, passed an ordinance this afternoon to ban Text Messenging while driving. The law goes into effect tomorrow.
Minumum fine of $100.00, $500.00 if your involved in an accident. Warnings will be issued until October 20th.
This law comes after an 18-year-old Glendale woman, Ashley Miller, drifted across the center line while texting and collided with another woman, killing both.
