Phoenix has the Lowest Gas Prices in the Country

A new survey shows Phoenix had the lowest average gas price in the nation in the past two weeks, with a gallon of regular costing $2.51.( I just paid $2.43 @ Costco yesterday; who would have EVER thought we would be celebrating $2.43 a gallon Gas?). Oil industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said the nation's average price of regular on Friday was about $2.75 a gallon, mid-grade was $2.88, and premium was $2.99.

The Lundberg Survey includes 7,000 stations nationwide. The most recent AAA survey, based on data from 60,000 stations nationwide, confirmed the Valley's uncommonly low summer gas prices.

A spokeswoman for the auto club in Arizona said that steady supply from California is holding Arizona prices down while supply problems have affected most other U.S. cities.

But AAA's data showed slightly higher average prices in Arizona, and pegged South Carolina prices as the lowest.

With average prices better than $3 a gallon, Hawaii and Alaska top both lists.
