New Poll Shows Wide Support in Arizona for Senate Immigration Bill

New Poll Shows Wide Support in Arizona for Senate Immigration Bill

61% of Republicans support passage; bolsters position of Senators McCain and Kyl

PHOENIX – Results from a recently completed poll show that the comprehensive immigration bill currently being debated in the U.S. Senate enjoys strong support in Arizona.

The poll, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of the Arizona Latino Republican Association (ALRA), shows that 58% of voters in Arizona would like to see the immigration reform proposal pass Congress. The bill is supported by Arizona Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl.

The survey provided respondents details and context about the immigration bill, whereas recent polls have focused on voters’ reaction to only the title of the bill.

“These poll results are proof that once people know what’s actually in the bill, they’ll support it,” ALRA Chairman Jose Esparza said. “Unfortunately, a vocal minority in this state has railroaded the debate on immigration in an attempt to stop real reform. As supporters of immigration reform and increased border security, we need to do a better job of educating voters about the bill while the Senate is debating the measure.”

The poll revealed that the proposal is supported by 61% of Republicans in Arizona.

“This poll makes clear that Senator McCain and Senator Kyl are representing the views of the majority of the over 1 million Republicans in the state,” Esparza said.

Formed in 2002, the mission of the Arizona Republican Latino Association is to foster the principles of the Republican Party in Arizona's Latino community by creating an empowered network of Republican Latino leaders and grassroots activists.

Yes Anonymous TR did post earlier, I was out doing errands (sorry I wasn't by the computer 24/7 like you must be). But TR didn't post the actual survey send out (I did). Probably because TR's computer skills are not what they should be. BTW, I hope your not a Male since TR is a man. But if you are, I am sure TR appreciates the thought!
