PHOENIX, AZ – “President Bush’s veto of the Iraq supplemental bill was courageous. It was steadfast. And it was right,” said Randy Pullen, chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. “Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, along with Arizona’s freshmen Democrat members of Congress Gabrielle Giffords and Harry Mitchell have done little more than weaken the country during their tenure in Congress.”
Pullen continued, “We are very fortunate to have a man of principle and conviction in the Oval Office. The Arizona Republican Party will continue to support the President in his showdown with the liberal, defeatist Congress. The Democrat Congress owes it to our brave servicemen and women as well as the American people to send the President a clean supplemental bill that includes no surrender time table and no pork spending unrelated to combat operations.
“It’s time the Democrats stop playing politics with the lives of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and guardsmen serving honorably in Iraq and Afghanistan,” concluded Pullen.
