If some folks we know do not know the difference between US trucks driving in Mexico and Mexican trucks driving here, then perhaps they should play hooky from Fool School for a week or so and check out the real world. Two very serious problems: Mexican trucks and Mexican drivers. Mexican trucks are not in the best condition, especially as far as safety is concerned. And Mexican drivers are not required to be professionals, as our drivers are, nor do the southern neighbors know the rules of the road. They are not paid enough to warrant professionalism.
Another point to consider is that ships with goods bound for American markets will be docking in Mexico soon, avoiding US fees and labor and transportation costs. The Mexican dockworkers will be able to load the goods into Mexican trains and trucks and the Mexican driver can then drive past a non-existent border and continue on into the US markets with the goods, which probably won't be inspected until then. Now they need not transfer the loads to US trucks; the Mexican trucks can deliver the goods directly to the receiver.
So, companies with prison labor and slave labor can dump their cheap goods on our markets without having to pay us a dime for doing it. Unfair competition? What makes you think that? No US port fees, no US dockworkers, no US truckers. We have more than enough workers unemployed and underemployed now. In addition, our balance of payments now is not in our favor. It seems to me that allowing Mexican truckers to compete with cheaper rates is a direct threat to our own trucking industry. Why aren't US workers calling for strikes and boycotts? Perhaps the unions haven't told them yet. But then only a few of us have told the American people about it. Wake up folks, someone is taking your economy right out from under you. Since Texas is the key to the rest of the United States from the Mexican ports, that is where construction of the corridors from Mexican ports to Canada has already begun. And if you ask why we are not hearing a lot from the Texans who stand to lose their homes and businesses because of the extensive corridors, one of the foreign companies brought in to build these corridors, bought up local newspapers. That is one way to silence criticism. They must have learned that from one of our presidents.
To know more, try corridorwatch.com and spp.com just for openers. Another site, stopspp.com is also of interest. There are numerous sites, even government sites, (spp.gov) available for information. You can enter North American Union into any search engine and watch the available sites go on for pages. If you have to learn this information from blogs or one of my speeches, it shows you how bad the administration and the media are. Who knows, next year if someone asks you what's in your wallet, it might be Ameros!
