I found this post over on 'The Sonoran Alliance' Blog posted by a fellow named Ron. This guy thinks that Sheriff Joe Arpaio, long known as the "Toughest Sheriff in America" is too old to run for re-election in 2008. He must not know Sheriff Joe very well. He maybe 75 years old, but I would love to see anyone try to keep up with him. Sheriff Arpaio is one of the Hardest working public officials we have ever had. Let's see if you could keep up with him Ron? I doubt it.
I must receive at least 50 e-mails a week from friends all over the United States about Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Many of you have probably
seen this e-mail that has made the rounds of the Internet for years.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is the only Arizona law enforcement official to go after the Illegal Immigrants. He treats the criminals like what they are....Criminals. Jail is NOT a Country Club. Sheriff Joe will win re-election EASILY in 2008. Who knows? He may run again in 2012!!!
Sheriff Joe Arpaio called this afternoon to announce that the Maricopa County Sheriff's Dept had apprehended 30 Illegal Aliens today. He was on his way to the County Jail as we spoke to "greet" them. Great Job Sheriff Joe & the MCSO. Pretty good for an "OLD" guy!

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office reached a milestone Thursday in its fight against illegal immigration: The 500th undocumented immigrant was arrested under the state's law against human smuggling.
At the same time, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he would hire 15 deputies to concentrate on enforcing state and federal immigration laws. Thirty-seven deputies and detention officers have finished an Immigration and Customs Enforcement course that gives them the power of federal officers.
In March 2006, the Sheriff's Office became the only law enforcement agency in the state to arrest undocumented immigrants for conspiracy to smuggle themselves into the U.S.
