The Mitchell playbook is lashing out with attack ads that are negative and wrong. David needs your help to fight back and trounce the liberal lies!
We are under attack, and we have 36 days until Election Day.
Every minute counts.

The choice is yours to let them win. Will the Obama-Pelosi liberals take ground? Or, will we fight to stop them in their tracks… right here, right now!
Make no mistake - - we are fighting back. - - And David needs your help! The campaign must raise $78,000 this week to be able to trounce Congressman Mitchell’s outright lies on TV.

With Election Day just 36 days away - - please consider a minimum contribution of $36. Your support will mean we can take back the U.S. House and stop Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama in their tracks.

News outlets from FoxNews to the New York Times are reporting this morning that Democrats like Congressman Mitchell are slinging mud harder than ever.

Arizona is ours to win.

But the Obama administration, the Pelosi Congress, and rank-and-file lapdogs like Mitchell will do anything to deceive - - and even lie to the voters with some of the nastiest ads in the country.

Why?

Liberals like Congressman Mitchell are in wholesale desperation!

Mitchell refuses to talk about the issues. He is on his heels. He is stumbling and lashing out with a message we know is a distraction.

If the Congressman were honest, he’d stand proud next to his extremely liberal votes for ObamaCare, the Wall Street bailouts, and the stimulus. He’d tell the truth: he wants even more government control and power for his Nancy Pelosi allies!
This race in Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District is one we can win.

Our country is in peril, and we can’t afford to lose this fight. All roads to national victory lead to Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District.

The liberals and Congressman Mitchell want a fight… We can trounce the liberal lies and win this year. We know the stakes for our country. But it all comes down to the resources to win.

Your support will go directly on TV to combat the liberal attack machine. Investing in our race will help us reach our critical goal and defend our freedoms from right here in Arizona.

Debate or Ambush?

September 27th, 2010

For Immediate Release

Democrats around Arizona have been complaining in the press about Republican candidates refusing debates. So they set up an ambush. Candidates attending a Sunday forum hosted by the Pima County Interfaith Council (PCIC) were given a list of the questions beforehand--complete with the pre-framed answers.

Of course, the questions were chosen and designed very specifically by the PCIC. You'd think that an "interfaith" forum on "family issues" would include a discussion of life. But, no, a group with close ties to Rep. Raul Grijalva certainly doesn't want to bring up that issue in a tough election year--not when the majority of his constituents in CD7 would be appalled to learn that he has a perfect rating from Planned Parenthood of America.

The questions they did ask were clearly selected for two simple reasons: to support the PCIC agenda for garnering additional taxpayer funds, and to help their democratic friends.

The PCIC claims to be non-partisan, although as a 501(c)4 organization, they are by definition a political lobby. They did not allow any Independent or Green Party candidates to attend the forum--candidates they fear may pull votes away from their chosen politicians. And Nancy La Placa, a democratic staffer, opened the proceedings with a "focus briefing" that she concluded by telling the crowd to "Vote Democrat, go solar."
"I chose to attend this forum, even knowing how biased it was going to be, because I believe voters need to hear directly from the candidates. Anytime Raul Grijalva is willing to debate--really debate--the issues in a public forum, I'll be there," said Ruth McClung. "But this kind of biased showcase is embarrassing for the PCIC, it's member organizations, and anyone interested in real, constructive dialogue."

2010 Race of the Day: Ann Kirkpatrick's Failed Policies in Arizona

September 27, 2010
President Bush won the district effortlessly in 2004 with 54 percent of the vote, and Arizona native John McCain won similarly with 54 percent in 2008. Despite the Republican tilt of this seat, the representative from the First district is Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick, whose out-of-touch fiscal policies have led to needless spending that has put small businesses in a bind. Republican Paul Gosar is waging a strong challenge against Kirkpatrick, who continues to neglect the conservative tendencies of her constituents and the current border security crisis affecting her state. While 70 percent of Arizonans support SB1070, the Arizona immigration law, Kirkpatrick stands against the majority of her constituents in opposition to it.

Within two short years of taking office, Arizona’s unemployment has jumped from 6.7 percent to an unacceptably high rate of 9.6 percent under Ann Kirkpatrick’s failed agenda of more spending and fewer jobs. Middle-class families are struggling, yet Kirkpatrick has a record of voting with Nancy Pelosi over 86 percent of the time, rubber-stamping a failed trillion-dollar stimulus which has failed to produce jobs and a disastrous healthcare bill that places stringent regulations and higher taxes on businesses. With no relief in sight, voters will turn to the polls in November to send a loud and clear message to out-of-touch Democrats that they’re tired of suffering under Kirkpatrick and her party’s failed policies.

In recent times, in an effort to avoid townhall meetings, Kirkpatrick scheduled a “meet the voters” outside of a Safeway in the 100 degree Arizona summer heat. During this attempt, she was only able to speak to about two dozen voters while the rest of the participants waited confused and distraught in line. In a similar session in Holbrook, Kirkpatrick walked out on her constituents after getting frustrated when the voters could not hear her and asked that she speak louder. As a result of her track record, independent groups have begun airing their grievances against the freshman Democrat and the NRCC recently expanded our target list to include the seat. Fortunately for voters in the First District, the American Action Forum poll shows that Kirkpatrick is down 6 points and Republican candidate Paul Gosar is favored to win.

Gosar is a small business owner and a dedicated family man. Having owned his own dental practice for more than 25 years, Gosar knows first-hand how the Democrats’ economic policies will affect Arizona’s small businesses. His work as a dentist has earned him numerous awards and honors such as the Arizona Dental Association’s “Dentist of the Year” and an induction into Arizona Dental Associations Hall of Fame. He was previously the President of the Northern Arizona Dental Society and the Arizona Dental Association. Gosar was also Vice-Chair of the ADA Council on Governmental Affairs. As his concern rose for the state of the government and his district, he decided to run for office and justly represent the constituents. Gosar truly understands the values and ideologies of Arizonans and Americans alike. He is seeking fewer government imposed roadblocks and a more transparent government to protect jobs and bring more local and outside business to Arizona.

Despite overtures from independent organizations, such as the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Raul Grijalva has yet to agree to a true debate.

"Tomorrow, my campaign will be delivering a formal debate offer to Raul Grijalva's office. We hope that he will have the courage to stick up for his views in a truly non-partisan and wide-ranging debate. "

It's just wrong that Arizona liberals like Congressman Harry Mitchell won't stand up to the SEIU, UFCW, and the boycott cartel harming Arizona's economy.

We need jobs and an economic recovery that works - - not more government wasting our tax dollars.

These Washington liberals just don’t get it.

Today marks the 6-month anniversary of ObamaCare, which Congressman Mitchell voted for TWICE - - It’s unconscionable! He lied to Arizonans and told them he wouldn’t vote for the bill.

Their one-candle-cake, is about to burn out. But I need your help to send Congressman Harry Mitchell packing in November.

Congressman Mitchell isn’t willing to defend his own record: the boycott unions that come to his aid, or his tragic record in Congress - - voting for ObamaCare, Wall Street bailouts, and a failed stimulus that even The New York Times rails against stating that it has lost more jobs that it has created.

These liberals and their phony recovery are wrong.

It’s our duty to send them packing, but that means your support today, in the next few minutes, is urgently needed to help lead the fight!

Congressman Mitchell’s Obama-Pelosi stimulus has lost more jobs than it has created. It’s time for Mitchell to lose his job. Let’s send him packing, home to Arizona, and elect a true leader that understands the entrepreneurial spirit of the American people.

David Schweikert understands that prosperity comes from economic freedom.

Congressman Mitchell, Obama, and Pelosi oppose freedom and favor a big government dependency agenda. Mitchell is 100% in favor of the failed policies that are preventing us from having the kind of economic recovery we should be having!

Congressman Mitchell is a huge part of the problem in Washington.

David Schweikert fights for us.

We need to focus on how to create jobs, not more government. Congressman Mitchell’s liberal voting record is damaging our economy. He sides with groups that boycott Arizona and he lied to us about ObamaCare.

If we’re going to take back our country, we’re going to do it by winning races like Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District.

Can David Schweikert count on your support today?

In the next few minutes, we need your help!

Ann Kirkpatrick Uses Faulty Logic to Attack Paul Gosar and the Taxpayer Protection Pledge

From Adam Radman on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 4:32 PM

Recently, Paul Gosar has come under attack from the Ann Kirkpatrick campaign in AZ-01 for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which commits a signer to oppose and vote against income tax hikes.

Kirkpatrick isn’t the first Democrat to try this line of attack against the “No New Taxes” Pledge. It began in the special election in HI-01, where Factcheck.org found the claims made against the Pledge to be “blatantly false.” It’s continued in states like Washington where King 5 TV found the claims made by the Patty Murray campaign against the Pledge and Dino Rossi to be “a stretch.” Additionally, Jon Ralston of Face to Face called the accusations made by the Dina Titus campaign against the Pledge to be “thoroughly misleading.” It appears that Democrats haven’t learned their lesson yet. Candidates that take the Taxpayer Protection Pledge should be applauded for their serious commitment to taxpayers and not attacked for it.

To read ATR’s official statement on the Pledge and Kirkpatrick’s faulty claims against it, click “read more.”

Ann Kirkpatrick Campaign Caught Telling Lies about the “No New Taxes” Pledge

Kirkpatrick campaign desperate to distort Gosar’s “no new taxes” promise

WASHINGTON, DC—The Ann Kirkpatrick Campaign recently launched a new line of attack on Paul Gosar by attempting to mislead voters about the actual meaning of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. The goal of the Pledge is to protect taxpayers and businesses from tax increases. The Kirkpatrick campaign’s charges follow the patently false claims made by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) earlier in the year – claims that the non-partisan FactCheck.org agrees are “blatantly false.”

The “No New Taxes” Pledge commits a signer to “oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses and oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.” By making this promise, Gosar has taken tax hikes off the table for all taxpayers in Arizona- something Ann Kirkpatrick has not done.

This is not the first time Democrats have tried to misrepresent the meaning of the Pledge. During the special election in HI-01, the DCCC ran misleading attack ads against the Pledge. FactCheck.org, a non-partisan "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics, responded by condemning the DCCC and agreeing that the ads were “blatantly false.”

Similar claims about the Pledge were made recently in Michigan, Nevada, and Washington. In Michigan, the Jackson Citizen-Patriot, a Jackson, Michigan newspaper, deemed Rep. Mark Schauer’s claims about the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and Tim Walberg to be “not true.” In Nevada, Jon Ralston of Face to Face “reality checked” the Dina Titus campaign ad and found the claims made against the “no new taxes” Pledge to be “thoroughly misleading.” King 5 TV in Washington called the accusations against the Pledge and senate candidate Dino Rossi to be a “stretch.”

“Why is Ann Kirkpatrick going out of her way to shamelessly distort Paul Gosar’s position on taxes? The Pledge signed by Gosar is a promise to constituents and businesses to never raise taxes. Kirkpatrick has yet to make the same promise and should explain to voters how tax hikes revive a struggling economy and promote job growth in Arizona,” said ATR President Grover Norquist.

“Paul Gosar has committed to never raising taxes on his constituents while his Democrat opponent has left the door for tax hikes wide open,” continued Norquist.

President Admits that Health Care Reform Will Raise Costs
by
Paul Gosar on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:05pm

In selling what amounts to a socialized takeover of the private American healthcare system, President Obama and his allies in Congress, such as Ann Kirkpatrick, repeatedly told Arizonans and Americans that their reforms were crucial to reduce the increase in the cost of healthcare and would result in no increase to the national debt or yearly deficits. However, in a press conference last Friday, President Obama admitted that his health care reforms would actually result in the increase of health care costs and government spending:

"If the reports are true, as a consequence of us getting 30 million additional people healthcare, at the margins that's going to increase our costs, we knew that.” --
Real Clear Politics

We can only conclude from this that the President and his liberal allies in Congress engaged in political doublespeak during the debate over the merits of Obamacare. This is something that we have come to expect from President Obama and Ann Kirkpatrick. They implement “stimulus” programs that add nearly one trillion dollars of fresh red ink to the federal books and then they come out and lecture Arizonans and Americans about the dangers of the federal deficit and the national debt. They even run ads touting their “fiscal responsibility” and their efforts to bring down the national debt.

Instead of taking real responsibility for their failed policies, they continue to blame the previous administration. They will kick the can in any direction to avoid taking responsibility.

It is time for Ann Kirkpatrick to recognize that she has added trillions of dollars to the national debt by being a rubber stamp for the Obama administration and that her vote for Obamacare, in the words of the President, will increase the cost of healthcare in America and lead to even more government spending.

As a medical doctor, I know that Arizonans and Americans have the right to choose any health plan they feel will give them the best care without government mandates and directives, and I also believe that Arizonans and Americans should not be fined if they choose not to carry a health insurance plan. Ann Kirkpatrick feels differently.

“Arizonans want reform, less government and lower costs. Not the monstrosity this bill has become.”

--Dr. Paul Gosar.

Obama, Pelosi, and Congressman Mitchell are trying to make as much “noise” as they can, to distract us from their liberal record of higher taxes and big government.

The voters see our economy is a shambles. This government’s record makes us cringe!

Congressman Mitchell voted for the Wall Street bailouts.

Congressman Mitchell voted for the failed stimulus.

Congressman Mitchell voted for ObamaCare …TWICE!

It’s time for a change!
David Schweikert gets it, and he will fight for us.

Our country is slipping backwards, and we need true fiscal leadership to save us from the liberal Washington agenda that is crushing us in spending and debt.

Supporting David Schweikert means that we can win in Arizona and defeat one of the most hard-nosed Pelosi liberals in the country.

Our deadline is fast approaching. If we don’t reach our goal of raising $65,000 to counter the liberal attacks, our hard-hitting ads go dark.

They want to sell our freedoms up the river to every special interest group in sight.
Higher taxes… higher taxes… and did we mention, higher taxes. These liberals don't understand we need to say no new taxes for any American. We the people say no!

The American people deserve better. They deserve a proven warrior who will fight for freedom!

This government’s job-killing agenda has been “unconscionable!”

- - And Congressman Mitchell will do everything he can to run from their record and avoid the issues… but we’re not going to let them hide!

Support David Schweikert TODAY. Send liberal Congressman Mitchell back to Arizona and remove these Pelosi rubber-stamp, rank-and-file U.S. Representatives from their disastrous seats in power.

3,000 Pages and More Loopholes than Swiss Cheese

September 21st, 2010

For Immediate Release

Rep. Raul Grijalva is blaming health insurance companies after many of them decided to stop offering policies to children in response to provisions in Obamacare which are about to go into effect. And, yes, it's easy to say that the actions of these companies are despicable, and they are. Mr. Grijalva ought to take a close look in the mirror, however.

There are three absolute requirements to reforming our health care system: hospital, medical malpractice, and interstate commerce reform (currently, health insurance companies are not required-or even allowed-to compete across State lines). Of course, the Affordable Care Act pushed by the Obama administration and supported by Mr. Grijalva and his progressive pals in congress addressed none of these things. They didn't do anything to rein in costs--that $50 Advil is still waiting for you in the emergency room--and malpractice insurance remains prohibitively expensive.

So why didn't Mr. Grijalva and his colleagues address these issues? Why did they throw the entire burden for "healthcare reform" on the shoulders of taxpayers? Because trial lawyers, hospital unions
and insurance companies are three of the biggest donors to Democratic candidates around the country.

Yes, that's right. While blackballing Republicans and health insurance companies as baby-killers, it was Mr. Grijalva and the Democrats who sold us all down the river. For campaign contributions. Very noble of you, Mr. Grijalva.

"We do need real healthcare reform," said Ruth McClung. "But Obamacare is a disaster on every level. It doesn't address the root causes that are driving up healthcare costs--after all, it was largely written by prescription drug manufacturers, trial lawyers and insurance companies. Of course there are loopholes. They've been duly bought and paid for. Too bad Mr. Grijalva and his friends didn't stop to read the bill before they signed it."

Kirkpatrick Launches Character Attacks Against Paul

I need your immediate help.

As the polls continue to show Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick trailing us by six points or more, she has decided to forgo discussing the issues and has launched a series of character attacks against me and my family.

In a recent radio ad, Kirkpatrick is not telling the truth. Perhaps this is what Ann Kirkpatrick has learned from Nancy Pelosi during her time in Washington, DC.

I knew that running for Congress would be difficult but I never thought Kirkpatrick would go to such lengths to lie about me and my family and the difficult times we have faced.

Donate Now To Help Us Tell The Truth. Here is the truth: Like many of you, Maude and I are small business owners and we understand, as you do, that times are tough. Nowhere is this more true than right here in Congressional District One. As every small business owner in America knows, sometimes you get behind but you find a way to get through the hard times.

Trust me, I have never run away from my obligations and never will. For Ann to attack a small business owner at the same time she is voting to hurt us just shows how desperate she has become. Kirkpatrick has millions of dollars at her disposal to continue the attacks on me and my family! There is an old saying in politics, “an attack unanswered, is an attack believed.” We cannot allow this to happen.

PLEASE HELP US SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. YOUR IMMEDIATE DONATION WILL HELP US RESPOND TO THESE ATTACKS! Maude and I appreciate your immediate assistance. Paul

Reasons why President Obama is the Worst President in History

1. He has loaded up every child in this nation with more debt than any President in history.

2. With his policies and the threat of more such policy he has destroyed more wealth than any human being in history, which is always what happens when you set out to redistribute wealth: you end up destroying it.

3. He has brought us to the brink of the most massive tax increases in history and if we don't elect enough Republicans in November to stop him that is exactly what we will get.

4 . He has forced through legislation without a single republican vote that may well destroy the finest health care system in history when all we needed were some measures to control costs.

5. He has divided America along racial lines in destructive ways and he is doing so again by suing Arizona over its attempt to control the drug trade and human smuggling trade threatening its security.

6. He has failed to form a policy to adequately deal with the vicious Mexican drug cartels that are essentially running parts of that nation and becoming an increasing threat to ours.

7. He has traveled the world making apologies for America instead of defending its timeless and treasured ideals of freedom and peace for all nations of good will.

8. He has said there is nothing exceptional about America, something no other president has ever said and something which alone suggests he is a historically poor president.

9. He has hired people of strange and radical views to hold important federal posts in which they pursue more bad policy that no administration in history has ever pursued.

AZ REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES UPDATE for Monday Sept 20, 2010

Palin fights tooth and nail for Ariz. candidate

By KASIE HUNT 9/17/10 1:24 PM EDT

Dentist Paul Gosar is the only Arizona House Republican candidate who won a coveted endorsement from Sarah Palin, and it's all because he helped out Alaska's dentists.

Gosar was competing with several other 1st District candidates for Palin's backing, including a potential "mama grizzly" in 2008 GOP nominee Sydney Hay. A number of Arizona Republicans running in other districts also wanted her endorsement, National Republican Congressional Committee spokeswoman Joanna Burgos said, but Gosar was the only winner.

"The Alaska folks have been very instrumental to me, and many of their dentists are friends of hers, and that issue brought me in contact with her," Gosar told POLITICO Thursday.

Palin's method of endorsing candidates is known only for its opacity. She has backed a number of conservative women -- dubbed her "mama grizzlies" -- and candidates in Alaska, but she's also thrown her support behind at least 20 male candidates, and supports political hopefuls from Delaware to Texas to Washington state.
Gosar's Palin connection was first made when he served as chairman of the American Dental Association's Council on Government Affairs. At the time, the Alaska Dental Society was fighting against the possible expansion of training programs for dental health aide therapists -- health professionals with more limited training than certified dentists. They are often employed in rural areas where no dentists practice.
The ADA has lobbied hard against allowing training programs for dental health aides into U.S. universities. The only such program in the country? DENTEX, run through Native American tribes in Alaska.
Alaska's dentists back Gosar because he pushed the ADA to maintain its opposition to dental health aides. Certified practitioners say the aides don't have enough training to perform certain irreversible surgeries, like removing teeth. The society issued a congratulatory press release after Gosar won his primary. It called his involvement with Alaska's dentists "key" to Gosar's decision to run for Congress and urged members to donate to his campaign. At least five Alaksa-based dentists have already given Gosar money.

The connection has led to at least two face-to-face meetings with Palin, Gosar said. At one such meeting, Palin wanted to know why Gosar's campaign lapel pin featured an image of a shovel behind his name.
"She goes, 'What's the deal with the shovels?'" Gosar said.
"When you're surrounded by a pile of crap," he told her, "the only way you can dig out is one shovel at a time. Time to pick up our shovels and dig out."
"She looked at the pin and said, 'I'm never going to look at a shovel the same way again,'" Gosar said.

On Los Angeles radio station KPFK this afternoon, Congressman Raul Grijalva was asked why he was in California. "A little bit of self-preservation," said Mr. Grijalva. "To raise a little cash to take back Arizona."

Yes, that's our congressman. In California. Raising money. Because that's the only place he can raise money now that's he's cost Arizona millions of dollars with his boycott. Ruth McClung has a plan to bring jobs back to Arizona, to free our economy from the shackles of big government, and support Arizona families.

Even Raul Grijalva knows he's in trouble this time around. "This is the toughest election I'm going to have," Grijalva admitted on the show, going on to say that the "opposition is energized" and citing a "lack of enthusiasm among our base."

And how out of touch with the voters is Raul Grijalva, really? He also said on the show, "We've been too cautious on getting this (the Obama Administration's) agenda moving." That's the agenda responsible for the worst economic downturn in 80 years that he's talking about.

"Raul Grijalva may be the only person in Arizona who thinks President Obama is too conservative," said CD7 congressional candidate Ruth McClung. "But since the democrats are the only ones who have done any polling in this race, it's nice to see that he's worried."

Republican Leader John Boehner campaigns for Kelly

By Christina Stymfal

MARANA, AZ (KOLD) - House Republican Leader John Boehner was in Marana on Sept. 17 to support Jesse Kelly for Congress.

At a luncheon for Kelly supporters, Leader Boehner stated, "Southern Arizona voters need a leader like Jesse Kelly who will fight to cut government spending, tackle the debt that threatens the future for our kids and grandkids, and get our economy moving again."

"Unemployment has doubled since Gabrielle Giffords arrived in Washington," Kelly said. "Her liberal agenda is wrong for America. Retirees and families in District 8 are paying a steep price for her misguided policies. When I am in Congress, I will work with Leader
Boehner to promote policies that restore our free market economy and promote job growth."

Jesse Kelly is the Republican nominee for Arizona's Eighth Congressional District in the southeastern region of the state.
