NFIB ENDORSES REPUBLICAN BEN QUAYLE FOR CONGRESS
PHOENIX, AZ (October 18, 2010) – In a major show of support from the nation’s small business community, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has endorsed Republican Congressional candidate Ben Quayle, who is seeking to represent Arizona’s 3rd Congressional district. NFIB is the nation’s leading small business association representing small and independent businesses.
“I am honored and proud to have this important vote of confidence from small business owners across America,” said Ben Quayle. “This endorsement is further evidence that the small government, pro-business, low-tax policies I have advocated are the right prescription for our economy,” he added.
“Your election is not only critical to the small business owners in your district, but also to protecting free enterprise across America,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Vice President, Political, in a letter to Ben Quayle. “Thank you for your service and congratulations on earning the endorsement of small business,” she added.
In addition to the NFIB, Quayle has earned numerous endorsements including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; NRA; Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife; The Arizona Republic; Governor Jan Brewer; Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl; Congressmen John Shadegg, Jeff Flake and Trent Franks among others.

Gosar Poised to Win Arizona’s CD1 Seat
Incumbent Kirkpatrick Trails by 5 Points
PHOENIX, AZ – A recent survey conducted by Phoenix-based Summit Consulting Group, Inc. shows two-term Democrat Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick trailing Republican challenger Paul Gosar in Arizona’s First Congressional District.
A survey conducted between October 15th and 17th among 400 likely general election voters shows Gosar leading Kirkpatrick by five points.
When asked the question,
“This coming November, there will be an election for United States Congress. If the election for Congress were held today would you vote for (ROTATE) Republican Paul Gosar or Democrat
Ann Kirkpatrick?”
The results were:
Paul Gosar 43%
Ann Kirkpatrick 38%
Someone Else 3%
Undecided 15%
Gosar’s strength appears to come from Independents or those voters with no party affiliation, beating the incumbent by 10 percentage points, 44-34. What may be surprising to some is that
Gosar enjoys more than a 12-point margin among female voters in the district. Arizona’s First Congressional District is one of the largest in the country, and encompasses a large swath of northern Arizona, east to the Four Corners and south again to Pinal County.
The sample included voters who have participated in the last two general elections and was in line with the current voter registration numbers. Democrats comprised 38%, Republican voters 35% and Independent, Party Not Determined and Other Party were 25% of the sample used.
The margin of error is +/-5%.
