CARDS Spear the Fish; ASU Chokes; NFL Blows Call

The 1st Place ARIZONA CARDINALS won their 2nd game in a row yesterday by defeating the Miami Dolphins 31 - 10. First 2 - 0 start for the Cards since 1991.

Ken Whisenhunt continues his brilliant coaching of this 'new' Cardinals team. Best move he ever made was making QB Kurt Warner the starting quarterback. Warner, who threw 3 TD passes and had a perfect QB rating of 158, continued his stellar play.

The two best receivers in the NFL, Larry Fitzgerald & Anquan Boldin had HUGE games. Both had over 100 yards recieving. This Cards team is for real. Next week, a tough road game in Washington D.C. vs the Redskins.

The ASU Sun Devils were upset Saturday in Overtime by the UNLV Rebels 23 - 20. In the 40+ years I have rooted for ASU, I have NEVER seen a more disappointing game.

Coach Dennis Erickson took the blame as well he should have. ASU was NOT propared for this game. Erickson's game plan & play calling were HORRIBLE, reminded me of the Dirk Koetter era.

Devils better WTFU this week as they play the #2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Another pathetic effort like the UNLV game, and ASU will get smashed. The Sun Devils still have an opportunity for a good season, but with efforts like last Saturday night, this could be a long season!

Ref Blows Call, Chargers Lose Game
"On the last play, it was clearly a fumble. Ed came over, the official, and said he blew it. And that's not acceptable to me. This is a high-level performance game and that's not acceptable to have a game decided on that play.'' - San Diego Chargers Head Coach Norv TurnerAfter dropping two heartbreakers to open the season, the Super Bowl hopeful San Diego Chargers have to be the league's most frustrated team. That's bad news for upcoming opponents. If Shaun Phillips' latest post is any indication, the New York Jets are going to have their hands full next Monday night in San Diego.

That's all I can say is damn. I can't say that the ref cheated us because that's a fine. I can't say that the Broncos didn't win that game because that's being a sore loser. I can't say that it was a mistake that the replay machine wasn't working in the first qtr cause that would be a lie. What I can say is damn damn damn. As a competitor it should never come down to the last play, but it did and we let it slip away. We can say that we should have won because the ref messed up a call and admitted it but at the end of the day we should never give up 39pts as a defense. I'm still proud of all my guys - they played their hearts out and left it all on the field. There are a few positives that come out of this. One is that the Giants started 0 and 2 last year, and two is that we started 1 and 4 last year. It's all good, our backs are against the walls, time to come out swinging. Ain't no punks on this team and we will show you better than we can tell you. SP
