McCAIN CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON 1ST QUARTER FUNDRAISING

PHOENIX, AZ – U.S. Senator John McCain's re-election campaign today announced that the campaign has raised more than $2.2 million in the first three months of 2010 and will report $4.5 million cash on-hand in its 1st Quarter Federal Election Commission (FEC) report, closing today, Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

John McCain 2010 campaign Communications Director Brian Rogers released the following statement on Senator McCain’s 1st Quarter fundraising figures:

"Senator McCain's strong backing from thousands of Arizonans clearly shows the growing support for his bold leadership in standing and fighting the Democrats' misguided liberal agenda
in Washington. We are in a strong position today, and Senator McCain continues to work hard to earn Arizonans' continued trust and support.

"Congressman Hayworth's level of support is surprisingly weak, given that he's been in this race unofficially for 16 months and spent 12 years as a Congressman in Washington. The fact that he hasn't released his cash on-hand number also suggests that he's quickly burning through whatever he raises in a failing attempt gain press attention and traction."

Congressman Hayworth's inability to garner significant support here in Arizona is a direct result of the fact that he's already been thrown out of office in a solidly Republican House district because of his big-spending record of earmarks and pork barrel spending. Arizona Republicans understand that we need a leader who will fight the corrupt big spenders in Washington, not join them."

More important, Congressman Hayworth has pledged that at the same time he files his 1st Quarter FEC report, he will come forward with the names of all donors to his FIT Trust, the trust he set up to pay off the hundreds of thousands of dollars he owes his lawyers for his involvement with convicted felon Jack Abramoff. It's now been more than a month since the McCain campaign first requested that Congressman Hayworth come clean and reveal the donors to his Secret Abramoff Trust Fund.

The question remains: Will Congressman Hayworth live up to his word and release this information?”

McCAIN CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON DISHONEST, DESPICABLE HAYWORTH ATTACK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

McCAIN CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON DISHONEST, DESPICABLE HAYWORTH ATTACK

PHOENIX, AZ – U.S. Senator John McCain’s re-election campaign today released the following statement by campaign Communications Director Brian Rogers on former Congressman J.D. Hayworth’s despicable attack on Senator McCain’s advocacy for putting National Guard on our Southern border:

"It is despicable and offensive that Congressman Hayworth would attempt to exploit a family's tragedy to score cheap political points. "The facts are clear: Senator McCain has called for deploying National Guard troops to the border for more than a year, and along with Senator Kyl, held a Homeland Security Committee field hearing in Phoenix on April 20, 2009, to focus attention on the critical need to stem the growing violence along our border and demand more be done.

"Congressman Hayworth should be ashamed of himself, because he clearly knows that what he's saying today simply isn't true. In fact, nearly a year ago, on April 20, 2009, Hayworth on his own radio show played footage of Senator McCain telling 12 News Phoenix that more resources were needed, including the National Guard, to secure the border.

"Congressman Hayworth's comments are disgraceful and dishonest, and demonstrate a candidate so consumed by political ambition that he'll say anything to anyone -- no matter how shameful or inaccurate.” -- McCain 2010 Communications Director Brian Rogers

FACT CHECK: Contrary To Congressman Hayworth’s Claim Today, Senator McCain Has Advocated Putting National Guard On The Border For More Than A Year:

More than a year ago, on March 26, 2009, Sen. McCain stated his support for deploying National Guard troops to secure the border and stem escalation of violence.

Statement By Senator John McCain

March 26, 2009

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today released the following statement regarding sending additional National Guard troops to our border:

“In light of the requests by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Texas Governor Rick Perry and the continued escalation of violence, I support sending National Guard troops to assist with securing our southern border and stemming the flow of violence spilling over into the United States,” said Senator John McCain. On April 20, 2009, Sen. McCain, Sen. Jon Kyl and Homeland Security Chairman Joe Lieberman held a Senate Homeland Security Committee field hearing in Phoenix focusing on border security and deploying the National Guard.

Opening Statement of Senator John McCain

Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
Field Hearing in Phoenix, Arizona

Topic: Southern Border Violence: State and Local Perspectives
April 20, 2009

Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for coming to Phoenix to preside over this important field hearing and to hear first hand from Arizona’s local and state elected officials and law enforcement officers on the increasing violence along the U.S./Mexico border.

I appreciate those who were invited to testify, but unable to attend, including Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who submitted written testimony.

The committee is here today to hear from those who have the difficult job of securing the safety of the citizens of Arizona and the Nation despite the fact that our Southwest border is not yet as secure.

And as we know all too well here in Arizona, violence associated with illegal drug traffic by the Mexican drug cartels is a real problem and must be addressed. It is for that reason that I have joined the calls for the National Guard to be sent to the border.

I look forward to hearing out witnesses ideas on the how best to deploy the Guard and what other solutions they propose be taken.

Due to the unsecure border and the high demand for illegal drugs in the United States, the drug cartels’ activities are impacting the security of the United States and particularly border states like Arizona.

The City of Phoenix is now the kidnapping capital of the United States and second only to Mexico City for the most kidnappings in any city in the world.

The City of Nogales has seen several gun battles break out in broad daylight between Mexican police and the drug cartels just a couple of miles from the border.

The City of Tucson has seen its crime rate increase this past year, especially for property crimes and car thefts. Each of these instances can be traced to an increase of violence along the Mexican border and the high demand for illegal drugs within the United States.

For these reasons, I was pleased that the Administration announced last month the addition of more personnel to the Southwest border, increased intelligence capability and better coordination with state, local and Mexican law enforcement authorities.

But it is not enough. Instead, the United States has cut funding to the Mexican government for equipment, training and assistance promised as part of the Merida initiative. We have failed to stop the demand for drugs in the United States and been somewhat lax in preventing the transport of bulk caches of firearms to Mexico.

Just last week, the Administration denied Governor Brewer’s request for Federal support to add 250 more National Guard troops to be assigned at the border to the Joint Counter-Narcotic/Terrorism Task Force.

This is an unacceptable response and I hope our witnesses will further explain the ramifications of that decision.

I hope that the hearing today will highlight the outstanding work that our state and local officials are performing to provide for the safety of Americans despite the unwillingness in some instances of the Federal government to provide the necessary resources to assist Mexico in its efforts against the drug cartel violence and to secure the Southwest border from the flow of drugs, money laundering and illegal immigration.

We must do more, and the people at today’s hearing know that fact far better than I can attest—I am very eager to hear from them today. Additional federal action is urgently needed and in my judgment, our failure to do more puts at risk the safety and security of our citizens each and every day.

On April 20, 2009, Sen. McCain said

“Additional federal action is urgently needed,
including sending National Guard troops to patrol the border as supported by the state’s governor, Senator Kyl, and myself.”

From Senate Homeland Security Committee Press Release:

"Today the committee visited Arizona to hear directly from local and state elected officials and law enforcement officers who have the difficult job of securing the safety of the citizens of Arizona," said Senator McCain.

"Despite their outstanding efforts, the United States will not be safe until the Federal government secures the border. We must do more to stop the flow of drugs, money laundering, and illegal immigration across the Southwest border.

Additional federal action is urgently needed, including sending National Guard troops to patrol the border as supported by the state’s governor, Senator Kyl, and myself. The failure of the Federal government to secure the border puts the safety and security of Arizona’s citizens and our Nation at risk each and every day."

On July 24, 2009, Sen. McCain went to the Floor of the United States Senate to spotlight the increasing violence along the border, and addressing the need for National Guard to confront it:

Floor Statement of Senator John McCain On Southern Border Violence

July 24, 2009

Mr. President,

I come to the floor today to talk about the violence that continues to plague our southern border region by Mexico’s well armed, well financed, and very determined drug cartels.

Despite the increased efforts of President Calderon to stamp out these blood-thirsty and vicious drug cartels, violence has increased dramatically, claiming over 6,000 lives in Mexico last year alone.

The murderers carrying out these crimes are as violent and dangerous as any in the world. Many have extensive military training and carry out their illegal activities with sophisticated tactical weapons and no regard for human life.

Last week, The Washington Post reported that 12 Mexican federal agents were murdered and left alongside a mountain road in retaliation for the arrest of the leader of the country’s most violent drug cartel, La Familia.

According to the article, this act represents “the highest one-day death toll for federal forces in the three-year old drug war.” The article provides the deadly details of the violent attack reporting, “The attacks began at dawn on Saturday … shortly after the arrest [of] the right-hand man of La Familia founder Nazario Moreno Gonzalez.

After La Familia gunmen were repelled in their attempt to free [the leader,] they went on what police described as a shooting rampage to ‘avenge’ his capture.

The attacks, in which convoys of gunmen mounted surprise assaults on government positions in eight cities, went on for 10 hours Saturday and continued sporadically Sunday.”

The bodies of these brave law enforcement officers were accompanied by a note promising future violence from La Familia if the federal government continues its law enforcement efforts.

I remind my colleagues that this is the same drug cartel that, according to The Washington Post, “announced its presence two years ago by rolling five decapitated heads into a dance hall…”

Earlier this month, two American citizens with dual citizenship were dragged out of their homes and shot several times in the head in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The reason?

According to the Associated Press, the victims “helped lead the town's approximately 2,000 inhabitants in protests against a May 2nd kidnapping. The residents refused to pay the $1 million ransom kidnappers requested and demonstrated in the Chihuahua state capital to demand justice.

Even after [the kidnapped victim] was released unharmed a week later, the [town’s] people continued to lead marches demanding more law enforcement in the rural, isolated corner of Chihuahua state. They also set up a committee to report any suspicious activities in town to police, quickly becoming an example for other Chihuahua communities.”

Yesterday’s Washington Post front page story about these events states, “Chihuahua today is the emblem of a failed state, run by incompetent authorities who have little ability to protect the citizens.” The violence that has terrorized Mexican citizens continues to seep across the border, devastating families and crippling communities.

In my hometown of Phoenix, there have been over 700 reported kidnappings in the past year. This has lead to Phoenix being declared the “kidnapping capital of the United States” second only to Mexico City in the world. In many cases kidnap victims are intertwined with criminal elements of society involved with illegal cross-border smuggling operations.

The Police Chief of Phoenix testified in April before the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee that Phoenix is a trans-shipment point for illegal drugs and smuggled humans -- both coming to Phoenix before being shipped to other points throughout the US. Immigrants illegally crossing the border with paid ‘coyotes’ are treated like expendable cargo to be bought, sold, traded, or stolen.

In many cases, the immigrants’ families are ransomed for additional funds by bajadores, or ‘takedown crews’ to guarantee safe delivery of their loved ones. As detailed in a Newsweek article from earlier this year, “kidnap victims have been found bound and gagged, their fingers smashed and their foreheads spattered with blood from pistol whippings.

When the bajadores abduct illegal immigrants – hoping to extort more money from relatives – they will sometime kill someone off immediately to scare the others . . . There was a case last year where they duct-taped the mouth and nose of one individual and had the others watch while he asphyxiated and defecated on himself.”

Aside from the horrible toll these cartels extract from their victims and the victims’ families, they also severely tax the resources of law enforcement agencies of border communities.

The Police Chief also testified that the Phoenix Police receive a kidnapping report almost every night, which can require the efforts of up to 60 officers to find, rescue, and protect kidnap victims. Lest you believe these activities are limited to border communities, last year the bodies of five Mexican men were discovered bound, gagged, and electrocuted in Birmingham, Alabama in an apparent hit by a Mexican cartel. In recent years, arrests of Mexican cartel members have occurred across the South, including Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.

There is no sign that the number of these drug related arrests will abate in the near future, which is why I support efforts to complete the proposed 700-miles of double layer fence. But as we have seen, fencing alone fails to take into account the realities of the southern border and should not be treated as a panacea.

These criminal smuggling enterprises are very sophisticated and are not easily deterred, which is why we must work to truly secure our border – not merely fence it. This past weekend I visited the border in Yuma, Arizona and witnessed the extraordinary lengths these cartels go to smuggle their goods across the border.

One cartel spent upwards of $1 million, using sophisticated GPS directed drilling equipment to develop their tunnel far below the surface to move goods underneath fencing and out of sight of law enforcement agencies.

In Nogales, Arizona drug traffickers have used the city’s sewer system to channel drugs across the border. Every other month tunnels are discovered underneath the border. Since 1990, 110 cross border tunnels have been discovered. 24 tunnels were discovered in 2008 alone.

Not to be deterred, our outstanding law enforcement officials have developed investigative strategies and tunnel detection equipment to locate and identify subterranean cross border tunnels. We must also increase personnel on the border to put an end to illegal immigration and protect our citizens from the drug cartel violence occurring in Mexico.

For this reason, I was disappointed that the Administration rejected Arizona Governor Brewer’s request for 150-400 National Guard troops to
bolster the Joint Counter-Narcotics Terrorism Task Force. But as we know, the
‘coyotes’ are aggressive and creative despite our efforts to secure the border
with more personnel, more fencing and more surveillance technology.

The United States must keep its focus on securing our southern border and do all it can to assist President Calderon in his efforts against these violent drug cartels. The prosperity and success of Mexico is essential to the prosperity and success of our own country.

We share a border, our economies are intertwined and we are major trading partners with each other. The US must show its support for our neighbor to the South and support the Mexican people and the Calderon administration in this fundamental struggle against lawlessness and corruption.

Watch Sen. McCain on the Senate Floor, July 24, 2009

On March 29, 2010, Sen. McCain renewed his request to the President to send National Guard troops to the border.

March 29, 2010

The Honorable Janet Napolitano
Secretary

U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Washington, DC

Dear Secretary Napolitano,

I am gravely concerned with the continued and apparently growing violence along our border with Mexico. Most recently, I was saddened and outraged to hear of the death of Robert Krentz, a longtime Arizona rancher who was found dead on his property near Douglas, Arizona. The federal government must do all it can within its power to curb this violence and protect its citizens from criminals coming across the border from Mexico.

For years, I have called on the President to send National Guard troops to the border in an effort to stop the flow of illegal
immigrants and narcotics. Most recently, I supported Governor Jan Brewer's request to place troops along Arizona’s border with Mexico.

Unfortunately that request was rejected by this Administration. A year later, in light of the recent incidents and the continued growth of drug violence along the border, I am asking you and the Administration to immediately reconsider your position and send National Guard troops to our southern border region. We must make the security of our borders one of our top national security priorities.

The United States must also do all it can to assist the Mexican government in its efforts to combat these violent drug cartels.

The prosperity and success of Mexico is essential to the prosperity and success of our own country. We share a border, our economies are intertwined, and we are major trading partners.

The U.S. must show its support for our neighbor to the south and support the Mexican people and the Calderon Administration in this fundamental struggle against lawlessness and corruption. The people of Arizona and the United States demand and deserve secure borders.

I hope that you will take a personal interest in ensuring that Arizonans can feel safe and protected on their own property and not live in fear of the increasing violence along the border. I look forward to a swift and decisive response to this situation.

Sincerely,
John McCain
U.S. Senator

Gov. Jan Brewer works with state legislators to challenge health care legislation

Brewer works with state legislators to challenge health care legislation

Today, the Arizona Legislature has undertaken initial efforts to join in my defense of the citizens of the State of Arizona against one of the most intrusive and costly federal mandates in U.S. history.

I am disappointed, but not surprised, that instead of defending the citizens of the State of Arizona, Arizona’s Attorney General instead is only defending his political allies in Washington.

I am also disappointed, but not surprised, that the Attorney General proposes to restore state health care spending but once again fails to identify or propose an $11.6 billion revenue source for those programs.

It is clear that the Attorney General has failed the citizens of Arizona by relying on liberal law professors from other states rather than doing his own legal analysis.

The views of these so-called constitutional experts no longer square with the current U.S. Supreme Court decisions favoring States rights’ and disfavoring Congress’ insatiable appetite to overextend the reach of federal authority into the lives of American citizens.

Conveniently, the Attorney General fails to note the numerous legal scholars who agree that Congress has, in fact, exceeded its constitutional authority and is rightfully subject to legal challenge.

The truth is, fourteen of the Attorney General’s colleagues in other states view the role of Congress and our U.S. Constitution much differently than our Attorney General. They are more in tune with the citizens of Arizona.

Many others may soon join in this bipartisan effort. Arizona citizens understand that the federal government is one of limited powers with all other powers reserved to the states.

As leaders, we must defend against unconstitutional encroachment upon our core right to govern ourselves rather than be at the mercy of an overreaching President and a Congress so eager to please him.

This is not the first time the Attorney General has failed the citizens of Arizona in a legal proceeding involving the State. Last year he refused to join the legal arguments advanced by the Arizona Legislature and myself in the landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in Flores v. Horne, involving Arizona’s bilingual education program. His position was ultimately rejected by the high Court.

I’m certain the citizens of Arizona understand why I am so hesitant to rely upon legal advice from the Attorney General in matters like this involving the critical liberty interests of every citizen in Arizona.

Rather than focus on the serious legal issues, the Attorney General tries to spin any lawsuit as an unnecessary cost to the State and redirect attention to budget matters unrelated to the legal issues.

The citizens of Arizona should rest assured that any lawsuit brought to defend our rights will cost little to nothing compared to the enormous costs that this unconstitutional mandate will exact upon us not only in raw dollars, but by relinquishing our precious liberties guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

We must push back when tread upon.

I ask that Arizona legislators lay aside their partisan differences, and join me in supporting a legal challenge to the unconstitutional mandates contained in the federal health care legislation.

ZERO FUND OBAMACARE By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on DickMorris.com on March 30, 2010

Printer-Friendly Version

We don't have to wait until we have a Republican in the White House to rid this nation of the shackles of Obamacare.

We can do it next year if we win simple majorities in one or both houses of Congress.

The Obama health care bill was an authorization measure which established a program and set down its parameters.

But authorization bills are not appropriations.

Each year the Congress must act on appropriations for each department and agency in the government. If no funds are appropriated, nothing can be spent.

So if Republicans take the House (where appropriations have to originate) - and especially if they also take the Senate - they will have the capacity to zero fund Obamacare, appropriating not a dime for it in their spending bills.

Indeed, they can and should include a specific amendment to their appropriations bills banning the expenditure of any of the funds on Obama's health care program.

In the wake of the passage of the health care bill, states are filing lawsuits and talk of repeal is in the air. Both are useful efforts.

But litigation takes time and the key challenge - to the constitutionality of the requirement that everybody buy insurance - cannot even begin until it takes effect in 2014. And repeal will obviously be impossible as long as Obama wields the veto from his Oval Office.

It would be impossible mathematically for the Republicans to get a two-thirds majority in the Senate and unlikely in the House, so an override is out of the question.

Repeal will have to wait until 2013, after Obama's defeat in 2012.

But zero funding can happen immediately after the Republicans take Congress. All this makes the elections of 2010 critical. If we can stop this bill from getting off the ground, it will be possible to repeal it when we take over the White House.

But if the Democrats keep their majorities, the program will be so entrenched by the time we defeat Obama that its repeal would be unlikely.

Obama Slights Our Friends, Kowtows to Our Enemies

Obama Slights Our Friends, Kowtows to Our Enemies
by Michael Barone, Townhall

Barack Obama's decision to postpone his trip to Indonesia and Australia -- to a democracy with the world's largest Muslim population and to the only nation that has fought alongside us in all the wars of the last century -- is of a piece with his foreign policy generally: attack America's friends and kowtow to our enemies.

Examples run from Britain to Israel. Early in his administration, Obama returned a bust of Churchill that the British government had loaned the White House after 9/11.

Then Obama gave Prime Minister Gordon Brown a set of DVDs that don't work on British machines and that Brown, who has impaired vision, would have trouble watching anyway.

More recently, Obama summoned Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House, permitted no photographs, laid down non-negotiable demands and went off to dinner.

Some may attribute these slights to biases inherited from the men who supplied the titles of Obama's two books. Perhaps like Barack Obama Sr., he regards the British as evil colonialists. Or perhaps like his preacher for 20 years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, he regards Israel as an evil oppressor. But the list of American friends Obama has slighted is long.

It includes Poland and the Czech Republic (anti-missile program cancelled), Honduras (backing the constitutionally ousted president), Georgia (no support against Russia), and Colombia and South Korea (no action on pending free trade agreements).

Franks: White House's Offshore Drilling Announcement Just Misleading Spin

March 31, 2010 - Congressman Trent Franks (R - AZ) gave the following comments on today's announcement by the Obama Administration that would purportedly expand offshore energy exploration and production:

"As news outlets seize upon what is being touted by the White House as a monumental shift toward increased offshore drilling, it is vital that we separate fact from fiction.

"The ironic reality is that the Administration's new policy actually closes more offshore drilling sites than it opens. Had the
Administration done nothing, a lease plan was already set to take effect that would have opened vast expanses of the Outer Continental Shelf, drastically increasing our nation's ability to tap into our domestic energy supply. Essentially, President Obama has stepped in and halted that plan from going into effect and has, with his new plan, opened only a fraction of the land that would have otherwise been made accessible.

"Whereas we would have been able to drill off the coast of Virginia starting next year, this new policy delays that ability until at least 2012, while also reinstating a moratorium on drilling in the North East Atlantic and the entire Pacific Coast, and completely blocking any drilling in Bristol Bay, Alaska!

"The fact that the White House is promoting this policy as an 'expansion' of offshore drilling is so absurd it's laughable. Sadly, however, I am afraid many Americans will not understand the full reality of what his plan actually does, and will celebrate his decision today as an actual step forward in decreasing America's dangerous dependence on foreign sources of oil. The reality is that today's announcement is nothing more than a spin job intended to disguise the harmful effect this Administration's policies will have on our nation's energy security."

Congressman Franks is serving his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee, Military Readiness Subcommittee, Committee on the Judiciary, Constitution Subcommittee, and is Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law.

McCain: Havasu at ‘top for patriotism’ By NATHAN BRUTTELL

March 29, 2010

“Proud and humble.”

Those are the two words U.S. Sen. John McCain said described most how he felt toward fellow veterans while visiting Lake Havasu City Monday.

Jillian Danielson Photo/Special to News-Herald Sen. John McCain meets with Vietnam Veterans from the Patriot Guard motorcycle escort Monday afternoon after a Town Hall meeting. The Patriot Guard Riders led McCain in an escort from the police facility to a Vietnam Veterans Day celebration at London Bridge Beach.

The Vietnam veteran also called the city “right at the top” for patriotic cities in America during his visit for the third annual Vietnam Veterans Day at London Bridge Beach.

Bullhead City Mayor Jack Hakim first formed the idea for Vietnam Veterans Day three years ago and the event has continued in Mohave County as a way to “honor the veterans, who did not receive the respect they deserved from all of us,” Lake Havasu City Mayor Mark Nexsen said.

The day also served as the 37th anniversary as the last 2,500 troops left South Vietnam.

McCain said he was impressed with the entire celebration.“(Lake Havasu City) is right at the top for patriotism,” McCain said. “This whole thing was really remarkable. There are so many wonderful veterans in this town and it was my honor to be asked to be a
part of this.”

Attendance for the picnic and celebration at London Bridge Beach hovered “in the thousands” according to organizers.

The celebration included a welcome from the Marine Corps Color Guard, a plaque presentation for Lake Havasu City Vietnam veterans killed in action, speeches from Chemehuevi Tribe Chairman Charles Wood, mayors Jack Hakim (Bullhead City) and John Salem (Kingman) and McCain.

VOICES FROM THE HEARTLAND: John McCain and Sarah Palin Rally in Phoenix

A Great Article from Blogger Sharon Caliendo from OK:

First Scott Brown came in to campaign for John McCain and now Sarah Palin. The heavy hitters of the Republican Party know how important it is to return John McCain to the Senate.First is the video with Scott Brown from 6 March, 2010:

Then this past weekend, 27 March 2010, Sarah Palin was in AZ to campaign for Sen McCain:

McCain / Palin Rally Phoenix from John McCain 2010 on Vimeo.

Senator Brown and former Governor Palin both recognize that it is vital to American interest to send Sen McCain back to DC. He is one of the protectors of our military along with Senator Inhofe (R-OK) and other Republicans. One thing you don't have to be concerned about with Senator McCain is ethics and honesty.

Senator McCain is one of the leaders of the fight with Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) against earmarks and pork. This election is vitally important to the future of America with the Socialists agenda by Obama and leaders in Congress they ramming through. Americans need John McCain returned to the Senate to continue fighting alongside other Sen Coburn and others to protect our Freedoms.

Last person we need in the Senate is someone like Hayworth with flawed ethics who was a big time recipient of Abramoff money, couldn't win his own Congressional seat, and is a bully by all the accounts.

He couldn't keep his seat in Congress but now wants to become the AZ Senator? Give us a break! We have enough Democrats for Sale and the last thing we would need would be a big time recipient of Abramoff money on the Republican side elected to the Senate who believes in hiding the details of his association with Abramoff.

Having witnessed him speaking at a State GOP function, I would tend to concur he is a bully as he went after a member of our delegation for not being conservative enough when he has a 92 lifetime average. Looks pretty conservative to me.

With Hayworth losing his seat in the House in 2006, we never did get a full accounting of Abramoff trust fund donors to Hayworth.

The Politico Mafioso asks this question on his site:

WHEN WILL JD HAYWORTH RELEASE THE NAMES OF HIS SECRET ABRAMOFF TRUST FUND DONORS?

We would also like the answer to that question. We have seen enough of someone who is not transparent with Obama, and we certainly don't need to see it out of a Republican candidate for Senate in Arizona.

Please join us in supporting Senator John McCain for the AZ Senate seat and send him back to finish the job with Dr. Coburn on earmarks and pork!

Joe the Plumber won't endorse Hayworth By Sean J. Miller

Declining to endorse in the Arizona Senate GOP primary, Joe the Plumber said he doesn't want to "create a lot of drama."

Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher was in Phoenix last weekend for a pair of anti-tax rallies at the state Capitol. He overlapped on both occasions with J.D. Hayworth, McCain's primary opponent, but he didn't endorse the former congressman.

Wurzelbacher insisted he won't back Hayworth in the primary. "I don't want to cloud the issue and create a lot of drama," he said.

Obama Ushers In a New Era of Debt

The Dawn of a New Age In the United States
By Bill Frezza, Real Clear Politics

Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, after a tumultuous year of political theater, the Age of Obama has dawned. With legislative success however tarnished by rancor and dissent, the hopes and dreams of generations of Progressives have been fulfilled.

The trifecta of Social Security, Medicare, and the first installment of Universal Healthcare are now the law of the land.

Based on a common set of financial principles and an unshakable faith in the wisdom of government the productive power of the young, the healthy, the successful, and generations yet unborn are now fully lashed to the yoke of redistribution.

The poor, the old, the infirm, the government employee, the union worker, the dropout, and the slothful have cause to rejoice as their party has delivered the goods. Or so they think.

Let's take a quick look at the numbers.

According to the most recent Social Security and Medicare trustees report, the unfunded liabilities of these New Deal and Great Society programs exceed $100 trillion dollars. Add the unfunded Medicaid mandates imposed on the states along with the pension liabilities of millions of federal, state, and local government employees and
the total becomes almost impossible to comprehend.

Try this on for size. If you confiscated the entire Gross Domestic Product of the US for ten years you couldn't cover all these liabilities

Arizona Republic: Brewer's speech "frank and passionate"

Dear Friends,

Just in case you missed it, the Arizona Republic has taken notice of my recent speech to East Valley business and community leaders.

They called my speech a “captivating, emotion-filled story about her parents to drive home the point that Arizona's future rests on making a series of hard choices.”

You can
click here to read the story.

You can also
click here to read a recap of the personal story from my speech.Challenges arise to show us what we’re made of as women and men.

They’re tests of our character – tests of our values. My father died when I was 10. My mother raised two children, opened up a business of her own and never quit. I would be honored to have your support and your vote.

Sincerely,

Jan Brewer

Governor

McCain and Palin Rallies Draw Thousands of People From Across Arizona

Over 5,000 people in Tucson and 3,000 people in Phoenix came out on Friday and Saturday to see Senator McCain and his special guest Governor Sarah Palin.

In addition, we had hundreds of people watching online at JohnMcCain.com/live.

Without a doubt, both events exceeded expectations in every way.

Along the way, we signed up hundreds of volunteers and our momentum has never been stronger.

Thank you to everyone for coming out to support Senator McCain. If you missed the chance to come out to the events, below are some pictures from each rally to give you an idea of the sights.

We will have video posted in the next day or two from both events so please keep checking back at the blog for updates.

OUT WITH THE TRAITORS! By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on DickMorris.com on March 26, 2010

Printer-Friendly Version

Scott Murphy of New York, Suzanne Kosmas and Alan Boyd of Florida, Betsy Markey of Colorado, Dennis Kucinich and John Boccieri of Ohio and Glenn Nye of Virginia – a partial list of the traitors who switched their votes in the House from no to yes on Obamacare.

Another, Gordon of Tennessee voted no when running for re-election and then switched to yes when he retired rather than face defeat, so he is beyond our reach.

We need to make a point of defeating these traitors in 2010!

That is what democracy is for. We know who they are. We know where their districts are located. And we will all come looking for them in November.

These deceitful men and women voted “no” when their votes didn’t count in November of 2009, seeking to fool us into believing that they had our interests at heart. But, when push came to shove and their votes counted, they switched and ran their true colors up the
flagpole and voted yes.

  • Yes for a $500 billion cut in Medicare. Yes for federal bureaucrats deciding who gets care and who dies.

  • Yes for raising Medicaid eligibility and making states pay for it, forcing tax increases throughout the nation.

  • Yes for big hikes in federal income and capital gains taxes.

  • Yes for making young people pay $8500 for an individual and $12,500 for a family to buy health insurance way beyond their needs…or fining them 2.5% of their incomes for failing to do so…or for prison time if they do neither.

  • Yes for taxing medical devices like arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, and automated wheelchairs.

  • Yes for slashing subsidies to Medicare Advantage for the elderly.

  • Yes for rationing of health care as the number of patients grows while the population of doctors shrinks.

And, most importantly, yes for forcing Congress to face a cruel choice: Cut Medicare or raise the deficit. These seven Congressmen deserve to be exposed to their voters. Our job is to tell the voters about their outrageous votes and let the voters decide.

GO HERE NOW to donate to a fund to bring the voters in their districts the full story. Thank you for your wonderful help in our efforts to defeat this iniquitous bill! We fought it tooth and nail.

Now we must focus on recapturing Congress so that we can roll back its provisions and stop the wholesale destruction of the best health care system in the world.
